🦷✨ 🦷 WE'RE BRUSHING BIG IN BURY! 🦷 ✨🦷

At our setting, looking after our smiles is a huge part of our daily routine! After our cozy nap and quiet time, it’s time to get those pearly whites shining.
Here is how we've been celebrating Bury's Big Brush:
The Ultimate Toothbrushing Soundtrack: We grab our toothbrushes, add our toothpaste, and blast our absolute favorite—the Danny Go! toothbrushing song! It keeps us moving and grooving while we brush. 🎶🕺
Dentist Detectives: We’ve been reading wonderful stories about visiting the dentist. Then, we turned into real-life explorers, pulled out a map, and tracked down our nearest dental practice. It turns out a lot of us already go there! 🗺️🔍
Bacteria Busters: Through fun, hands-on play, we explored "play teeth" to see what happens when food gets stuck. We practiced brushing away all the pesky bacteria to keep those cavities at bay! 🦠🚫
Our Golden Rule: We always remind ourselves of the magic numbers—brush for 2 minutes, 2 times a day! ⏰✌️

☀️ Sun’s out, water’s out! ☀️
Today started as a super focused, scientific sinking and floating activity... and quickly evolved into a full-body water play extravaganza! 🌊
We had it all going on: splashing, pouring, scooping, measuring, and comparing. By the end of it every single one of us ended up soaking wet.
10/10 would highly recommend for a sunny day! 😂💦

This is the same survey sent out via the 'Famly' app for our Early Years children

We would really appreciate parent's completing a survey by clicking the link or scanning the QR code below: below.

The information which parent/carers provide will contribute to a fuller understanding of childcare provision across Bury. This, in turn, will help inform improvements that benefit both parents and childcare providers.

Happy World Bee Day! 🐝
Today, our little learners became "busy bees" to celebrate our fuzzy, buzzing friends! We had an action-packed day of discovery, learning, and plenty of tasting. Here is what our mini-beasts got up to:
🌱 Learning & Listening: We discovered exactly why bees are so important to our world and learned all about the magic of pollination.
📖 Storytime Adventure: We read our favorite mini-beast book, following a little honey bee on a big journey.
🏃‍♂️ The Pollen Transfer: Everyone transformed into bees for a high-energy game, buzzing across the room to collect and transfer our very own "pollen"!
🎨 Bee Patterns: We practiced our fine motor skills by creating our own bold black and yellow bee patterns.
🍯 A Sweet Treat: To wrap up our day, we visited Fresh Cookie to collect some local honey but we were too late so we went to Village Greens and got some Lavander Honey. Safe to say, the sticky taste test was a big hit💛

We had so much fun marking David Attenborough’s 100th birthday with our very own community expedition.🌍✨
🔎 We grabbed our binoculars and magnifying glasses to explore the world around us.
🤫 We practiced our best "documentary whispers" while spotting local wildlife.
🧘‍♀️ We even tried some wild animal yoga!
🎂 To finish the day, we thought of orange animals and made Sir David a birthday card.
It’s been an absolutely wonderful day! 🎉🦜🌿

🤟 Celebrating National Deaf Awareness Week! 🤟
We’ve had an incredible week of learning, exploring, and opening our ears (and hearts!) to the world of the Deaf community. 👂✨
Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to:
The Science of Sound: We took a deep dive into "how do ears hear?" and how they send "sound messages" to our brains from the! 🧠⚡
Dancing Rice: We put rice on a speaker to watch the bass move to We will rock you! It was a great way to see that sound isn't just something we hear—it’s something we can feel through vibrations. 🎶🍚
Learning BSL: We’ve been practicing our British Sign Language! 🖐️❤️🌳
Storytime: We read "Elephant and the lost Blanket," a lovely book about a character who wears hearing aids! 📚💖
In Their Shoes: We wore ear defenders to experience what it’s like to have limited hearing. It was a real challenge trying to follow instructions, teaching us the importance of clear communication! 🎧🤫
The Power of Expression: We played "Mirror Mimicry," using our faces to show emotions. We learned that facial expressions are a huge part of how we connect when words can't be heard. 🎭😊
Location: We explored having our eyes covered and locating the sound based on what we could hear. This was a great way to explore how people with hearing loss may struggle to defenciate between sounds.
It’s been a week of building bridges and learning that there are so many beautiful ways to communicate with one another!
