Welcome to The UK School of Floristry, founded by Joseph Massie.

We teach more than how to arrange flowers. This is a place to learn, certainly, but also to explore, to refine, and to discover what might be possible with flowers.

Based in Manchester’s Makers Quarter, our studio is a calm, creative working space where materials are respected, skills are built with care, and confidence grows naturally over time.

Whether you’re taking your very first steps or looking to refine your skills and grow a floral business, our courses are designed to meet you where you are.

Our Taster Classes offer a gentle, welcoming introduction to working with flowers, while our Foundation and Career Courses build confidence, technique and creative understanding over time. For those ready to go further, our Intensive programmes are designed to deepen your practice, elevate your work, and support the development of a professional, sustainable business.

Each class is immersive, practical and thoughtfully led, grounded in both technique and creative intention.

I’ve something new, fun, and interesting to share with you today. During the months I spent working on the World Cup, there was lots of experimentation - trying out this, trying out that. Some things worked, some things didn’t, tis the nature of the beast. I wasn’t necessarily looking to find potentially innovative things, I was more following my curiosity, exploring possibilities. One such little gamble paid off rather wonderfully, and I landed on utilising 3D printing for bouquet frameworks, among other things. I haven’t seen it done before, (maybe someone will correct me) but it’s a wonderful little discovery, with many uses I’m now developing. It feels rather exciting! As we said at the beginning of my preparations - there are many ways to win the World Cup … Bespoke acrylic hand tied framework? ✔️ 3D printed handle? ✔️ The acrylic is recyclable? ✔️ The 3D printed handle can be re-used on several bouquets? ✔️ Does this feel like the future? ✔️ So much potential?! YES! ✔️ Can’t wait to share this lesson with @theflowerclass! And finally, yes, this is a ‘rose gold’ hand tied bouquet. Yes, this is the definition of working through my World Cup trauma. And, yes, my therapist is very proud of me lol

This October we open our studio for the Career Course, six intensive days covering more than twenty floral designs. From bouquets and centrepieces to weddings and events, you’ll learn the foundations of professional floristry with Joseph Massie and our award-winning teaching team.

For those who want to go further, Career Course: Mentored offers a full year of continued support, monthly coaching calls with Joseph, membership to Flower Class, mentor sessions, and priority access to real-world work experience.
