What an amazing year we have had!
School is now closed for the summer and the children will be welcomed back into their new classes, on Wednesday 4th September.
We wish our departing Year 6 children the very best of luck as they move on to High School. We will miss you.
Everyone, please remember to show our values of being respectful, responsible and safe over Summer, without forgetting our secret value of being kind.
Have a lovely break!

This morning, some of our Year 6 students presented the first ever Charlestown “Local Hero Award”.
This year, the award went to the amazing staff at Harry’s Chippy for all the hard work they put into raising money for our Christmas food parcels. Thanks to Harry’s, many of our families were able to eat over Christmas. We would like to thank Harry’s for their support and look forward to working with them again, in the future.

Today, we celebrated all our amazing sports stars from this year.

We have competed in over 12 different sports, over 20 sports events, reaching numerous finals, created memories, with over 60 children representing our school in competitions and 98% of our Year 6 children leaving Primary School having been part of a sports team. I, as the coach, and we as a School, are extremely proud of all of them.
So for the final time of the 23/24 sports season…
Well done to Team Charlestown!!

Tonight, our school netball team finally got the chance to play in the Manchester Netball Finals. After winning the North division qualifiers, the girls were ready for the big stage. The other schools in attendance were also fantastic schools and the competition was tough. After some very close games, the girls finished up in 4th place. Again, that’s out of the whole of Manchester. Another fantastic result girls!! We are as always very proud of you all!!

Reminder: It's Class Photo Day!
Don't forget, despite the weather, school uniform must still be worn.

Year 6 will also have their individual photographs taken too.

A reminder that John Hunt Photography will be in school tomorrow to do whole class and Year 6 individual photographs.

This afternoon, our Year 6 football team took part in their final ever tournament for Charlestown. After 7 intense matches with a mixed bag of results, the boys managed to qualify for the semi finals. With the sun still beating down on their already exhausted bodies, the boys fought for everything against a very good side. The game went to penalties!!! Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on our side and the boys lost the shootout 3-2. It’s a gutting way to end the year, but we couldn’t be any prouder of the effort they’ve put in not just today but all season. Well done!!

Congratulations to our fantastic girls football team. Tonight, they took part in the Manchester School league finals. After having to win the North league to qualify, the girls took to the field in sweltering heat in the hope of becoming Manchester champions.
After playing 6 gruelling matches, they managed to Win 2, Draw 3 and lose only once. This was good enough for a 3rd place finish. That’s 3rd out of the whole of Manchester.
We couldn’t be any prouder!! Well done!!

17/06/2024
