Reestablishing the Muslim experience at the core of artistic life removes barriers preventing communities from engaging effectively with Muslims.

Important Update 🌟

Salaam everyone, we hope you had a restful holiday break.

We are currently making some significant changes to the Academy, and as a result, we have decided to postpone the restart of Muslim Artists Academy workshops.

We’ll be pausing activities for now, but sessions will resume soon, aligned with the Ramadan calendar.

Thank you for all the energy, creativity, and commitment you’ve shown so far, it’s been wonderful to see our community coming together. We’ll be back shortly with updates and next steps.

We’re back with a Visual Arts session this week before the holiday break, and we have an exciting volunteering opportunity!

Tomorrow, 12th December, Visual Arts participants and aspiring content creators are invited to join us at Qadria Jilania Islamic Centre, 42-44 Altrincham Road, Manchester, M16 8FA, from 10am to 4pm.

Come for as long as you like and capture this incredible initiative, where Alchemy Arts is offering free health checks to the community, normally a £300 service, making care easily accessible.

Volunteers will have access to Alchemy Arts equipment to practice what they’ve learned and help document this inspiring work. DM us to get involved!

Adil shares a few thoughts from the launch of the Muslim Artists Academy 2025 just over a month ago.

It is hard to believe how much has unfolded since then. We are deeply grateful and genuinely moved to witness a growing community of young people and creatives forming around this project.

As we move forward, this next chapter belongs to you. Your initiative, your presence, and your willingness to build together will shape the creative spaces Muslims can claim in Manchester, across the UK, and beyond.

We have so much in store for our participants, and we cannot wait to see how you take this momentum further. Thank you for being part of the Academy.

A glimpse into our first Visual Arts session with Zeerak Aziz last week.

Photography, as the origin of the word tells us, is the art of writing with light.

What began less than two hundred years ago as light etching itself onto a sheet of silver emulsion has already transformed how we see the world.

Entire movements, ideas, and technologies have emerged through this young art form, with new innovations continuing to push the medium further and further today.

If you have ever wanted to begin your photographic journey or start shooting video, but cameras, settings, and equipment have always felt intimidating, join us this Saturday.

We will demystify the essentials and help you step into the world of visual storytelling with confidence.
