At Acorn Tuition, I offer one hour tutoring sessions in a calm and quiet work space in my home. The sessions will be tailor made to suit your child’s learning style, needs and aims as specified by parents. An initial assessment of your child’s skills will be offered in order to inform planning for your child. If tutoring is required for the 11+ or SATS exams, mock exams in exam conditions can be carried out so that the student feels confident when taking part in the real exam. Home learning activities are optional based on parents’ desires. A wide range of teaching resources ranging from teacher input, books, kinaesthetic resources, educational games etc. will be used to enrich sessions and your child’s learning.

About Me:
I am a qualified Primary School teacher who has been teaching in mainstream schools for 15 years. Throughout that time, I have taught and led across a range of key stages from Early Years to Year 6. I have a competent knowledge of the curriculum and how to engage, motivate and build the confidence of the children that I teach. Teaching in Year 6 for 10 years has given me a wealth of experience in preparing children for both their SATS exams and high school entrance exams (11+).

My aim: for your child to leave Acorn Tuition feeling happy, confident and motivated to continue their learning.
