BALANCE OF LIFESTYLE-

One of my main priorities is having a balanced lifestyle. With wrestling 2-3 times a week, training, now coaching and putting time aside for family, relationships etc.

One thing that helps me do all this is planning my week out prior to it. So I can find time for everything so I’m still getting my training in, meetings, work etc but I’m allowing myself time to go out for food with mates, watch Netflix and just have a laugh and that for me personally is benefiting my life 10x more compared to previous years where I’ve had no structure whatsoever and just lounged about and wonder where time has gone instead of looking at the issues I’m creating myself and changing them.

This is a very broad topic and can be discussed in so many ways, so I’ll come back to this over time and discuss different aspects.

PRO WRESTLING WARM UPS-

For us wrestlers, warming up is vital and for me, needs to be done no matter what. It can be as short as 3-5 minutes or if you have the time 5-10 minutes etc, either way it needs to be done.

I usually break down my warmups into a mixture of dynamic and plyometric exercises. Majority being dynamic to get to blood flowing to the joints and muscles.

Plyometrics to get the body used to landing, reducing injury occurrence, maintaining low impact on the joints whilst getting that heart rate up ready to wrestle.

Banded dislocations 20x
Banded pull aparts 20x
Squat hamstring stretch 20x
Crunch 10-20x
Push ups 10-20x
Pogos 10-20x

I’ll be doing different warm ups each week to give yous plenty of options for before matches!

MY TRAINING-

I switched my training style up last year as I was training like a bodybuilder and with being a wrestler it wasn’t helping me in the slightest. Increasing my risk of injury and decreasing my performance levels.

Not shown in this video are the power and plyometric exercises implemented into my program to improve my performance in getting ready for wrestling again.

I will do more videos over the coming weeks on the different choices of exercises and workouts I’ve done over the past year to help rehab my knee and improve my performance.

Ay up, I’m Ethan. I’m the owner of Ethan Allen Personal Training & Pro Wrestling S&C and I’m a new coach at so it’s only right I introduce myself.

I’m 21, a level 2,3 and 4 qualified PT and S&C coach, proud ginger and a professional wrestler.

My vision as a person, wrestler and coach is to eventually make a full time living off profesional wrestler whilst still managing my coaching as both are my main priorities.

My main priorities as a coach are being as transparent as possible with you lot and not being afraid of making mistakes and learning from them. Helping others achieve balance with their lives, allowing people to celebrate smaller wins more frequently, physical and mental rest, wrestling, travelling and friends and relationships. This may seem like a long list but over the past couple of years I’ve managed to allow myself to understand all these values alot more and my goal is to help people improve in these or similar aspects of their lives aswell as training.
