Year 6 had been trying to play April Fools jokes on their teachers this morning, but the joke was on them when their teachers gave them a wordsearch in which none of the answers could be found 😆 There were many confused faces!!

Last September, Year 6 children came up with the fantastic idea to plant green walls on our school as part of our RHS-initiated National Education Nature Park programme.
The RHS kindly have granted our academy with £5,000.00, for us to take action and enhance biodiversity in our inner-city school ground.
Equipment for 20 square meters of green wall have been provided by Wonderwall, the best local company for living walls with an outstanding international reputation.
With the support of Mrs Mirazi, children from all year groups have got their hands dirty, planting up just under 1000 easy-maintenance, perennial woodland plants on 4 separate green wall panels on the outside of our school building.
A real success and reason to celebrate cleaner and cooler air, more greenery and biodiversity for the years to come.
Special thanks goes to Natasha Devoe, who has supported this project with so much care and dedication, investing plenty of her time, providing us with her expert knowledge and lending a helping hand in all parts of the project on a voluntary basis.

Year 4 recently had a fantastic day with Viking School Days, learning about how the Vikings lived, the tools they used, and how they would battle. It was a very fun and informative day that really brought their learning to life. Thank you for coming to visit us Olaf!

Shuttle Stars launches with Manchester Velodrome Takeover🤩

Badminton England have officially launched Shuttle Stars, our new junior participation programme, designed to inspire 7-11-year-olds with a takeover of the Manchester Velodrome ahead of the English National Badminton Championships this weekend.

Hundreds of school children from across Manchester got the chance to pick up a racket and some had the opportunity to play with two of England’s rising badminton stars, Cholan Kayan and Sid Palakkal, both from Manchester.

The launch marks a significant milestone in our long-term strategy, Badminton: A Sport for Everyone, introduced in September 2023, and reflects the sport’s strategic focus on youth participation and inclusion.

Shuttle Stars is aimed at introducing a new generation of children to badminton in a fun, welcoming and inclusive environment, sparking, fostering and nurturing a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity.
