Last month our team took part in a full training day to make sure we’re offering the very best for your little ones 💛

We:
🔹 Updated our safeguarding knowledge
🔹 Built on our understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities)
🔹 Discussed the new Ofsted reforms coming into place this month
🔹 Reflected on our practice individually and within our nursery rooms

We had open, honest discussions about what we do well and how we can do even better – always with one goal in mind:
to improve the quality of teaching and give every child the best possible opportunities 🌱

To keep our practice strong and up to date, we have:
📚 3 staff training days every year
🤝 Monthly staff meetings that include reflection, training activities and discussions just like this.

🌱 Healthy Living at Little Learners Nursery 🌱

At Little Learners, we believe that healthy habits begin in early childhood! 💪✨ By introducing nutritious foods and encouraging independence during mealtimes, we help our little learners build positive routines that can reduce future health risks and support lifelong wellbeing🥗🧒

We also love to celebrate International Days throughout the year, exploring traditional foods from around the world to support cultural awareness and adventurous eating! 🌍🍎 From delicious global flavours to fun food-themed activities, our children learn that eating healthy can be exciting and delicious!

With our balanced nursery menu and engaging learning experiences, we nurture curious minds and healthy bodies every single day💚

❤️🌺 Remembrance Day Creative Learning 🌺❤️

Our children have been honouring Remembrance Day through creativity🌟

To express their understanding in their own way, the children were invited to create their own unique poppies using a wide variety of materials:

🎨 Paint and stamps
🧵 Tissue paper and collage pieces
✂️ Craft resources to design freely

Each poppy looked different — just like each child’s voice, ideas and artwork are special🌺✨

We are incredibly proud of the care, focus and respect they showed during this activity❤️

We’ve been giving our creative station a boost because even though it’s a space designed for staff, we know that in early years- everything becomes a learning opportunity! 🧠💡

By bringing more materials into view and making the area more inviting, we’re encouraging children to:

🌈 Explore colours and textures
🖌️ Engage in messy play and hands-on learning
🧩 Use tools in creative and imaginative ways
💬 Join in conversations like “What colours can you see?” and “What could we make with this?”
✨ Develop independence and curiosity through choice

Creativity fuels confidence, expression and problem-solving — and we love seeing our little artists dive right in!

We’ll continue to enhance this area to keep inspiration flowing and creativity thriving ❤️

Today we’ve been celebrating Apple Day- a brilliant opportunity to explore healthy eating and get creative with some seasonal fun! 🍃🎨

Our children learned all about apples:
✅ Where they grow
✅ Why they’re good for our bodies
✅ The different colours, textures & tastes
✅ How fruit helps us stay happy and healthy

Then we put our apples to spook-tacular use🎃👻
The children used apple printing to create Halloween artwork turning juicy fruit into pumpkins, monsters and all sorts of creepy characters! 🖌️🍏

Hands-on learning, healthy choices, and a whole lot of fun- the perfect Apple Day combination! 🍎💪✨

📚✨ Our Lending Library Has Been Refreshed! ✨📚

We’ve been busy enhancing our Lending Library to make it an inviting and meaningful space where a love for reading can truly grow ❤️

Here’s what we’re focusing on:
🌟 A cosy, welcoming environment for children to explore books
📖 A wider range of exciting stories and diverse characters
👶 Books suitable for all ages and learning stages
🤝 Encouraging families to share the magic of reading at home
✨ Giving children independence to choose their own books

This is just the beginning- we’ll continue to enrich our library with new stories, seasonal picks, and literacy experiences that inspire curiosity and imagination 🎉
