🎸 Do you have an old guitar gathering dust in the loft or garage? A broken or unused instrument that’s lost its song? Now’s the time to give it a new lease of life! 🎸
The call is now open for the people of Manchester to contribute guitars – new, old, damaged or unplayable – to be transformed into artworks which will be displayed in shop windows and venues around the city. All donors will be named and credited as part of the trail, so you will be able to seek out your own contribution and discover the artworks they have become!
What will happen to your donated guitar? Either:
🎸 Becomes part of the Guitar Street interactive installation by LAZERIAN
🎸 Is painted by an artist and displayed in a window or venue
🎸 If in good working condition, it will be donated to a music charity
At the end of the trail the decorated guitars will be auctioned to raise money to support grassroots music projects and venues throughout Greater Manchester via a dedicated music fund managed by Forever Manchester in collaboration with key music partners in the city.
Drop off your guitars at participating libraries and music shops across Manchester, and join in this creative and impactful initiative.
