Despite the weather & being under the weather, there are still some gems to be found in my garden.
Proud to share this work with you all.
After an exhausting 3 day down south to film features for our new e-learning programme, I managed to squeeze in a bit of Potter fan girling before heading back north! 🥰⚡️👓🪄
This week part 3 - 2 days down with my team and induction day. Explored more of the site when heading up through the orchard to the allotments for a team wreath making session after a morning of filming tutorials, a Xmas shared lunch and a long drive home.
This week part 2 - 2 days down with my team and induction day. Had the most amazing time exploring the gardens & greenhouse plus a bounce of seeing Wisley Glow event at the end of the induction day.
This week part 1 - 2 days down with my team and induction day. Had the pleasure of exploring the Glasshouse and the Laboratories along with hearing from the inspiring leadership team.
Had an amazing time last Thursday with at Glow 🥰
Even on a wet & cold afternoon it’s always good to share it with family at my all time favourite place 🥰 &coldafternoon
Eek! It’s here!
Hope you enjoy using it!
We've just added a brand new recycling resource to our website for ♻️
Have a go at turning juice and milk cartons into seed trays. This is a great way to watch seeds and plants grow indoors on a windowsill.

Shrooms at Bridgewater
Another day at Bridgewater and a different office to try this time.
Mixed weather yesterday but great for taking photos of shrooms! (That post to follow)
Todays office has been RHS Bridgewater. A site that has a lot of history to it and holds a special place in my heart. What more could I ask for!
I’ve been awfully quiet of late & that’s due to the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my life as I start my new job with the RHS. Today has been a very long day with a 4:45am get up so I could train it down to the London office at Vincent Square. Not only is this the original RHS HQ with offices but the home of the Lindley Libraries! Which I’m hoping to explore their collection of historical botanical books and illustrations in the near future! Eek!
As the summer hasn’t been the best with so much rain, it’s a wonder how much fruit I have on my Victoria plum tree this year. The fruit look amazing but are still not ripe enough to eat yet. So I will be checking each day so I can catch them before the squirrels do 😂🙈🌸
Gems in the garden
My golden raspberries are fruiting early, with the plums & damsons well on the way. Exciting time for home grown produce with over 7 litres of Elderflower Cordial made from a forage in the local park earlier this month.
For those who know, know why I’m so excited about this 🥰
If you don’t then I’ll let you into the secret.
I turned 40 on 19th May and usually I don’t ask for anything specific but this year I asked if people wanted to contribute to a large present.
I love love love baking and this is something I’ve been wanting for many years and last night it finally arrived!!
Guess what I’m doing today? 🥰
Popped into work today and WOW what a sight that was waiting for me. The hard work my students had put into planting all of the tulips has paid off and this colourful display is in full bloom.
Happy World Naked Gardening Day to everyone. Hope you are enjoying the outdoors no matter what the weather 😉
It’s the time of year when dandelions are just coming into flower. They are great for early pollinators to feed from. If you want to make a honey alternative here how you can make dandelion honey. Always remember to forage sparingly so you leave enough for those early pollinating bees and insects.
To make the dandelion honey all you need to do is collect the flower heads and simmer them in water and 2/3 slices of lemon for 15 minutes. Let this cool and infuse over night.
If you are use to making jam or jellies - it’s the same principle. For every pint of liquid (after draining off the flower heads) you add a pound of sugar.
Bring the liquid up to simmer and then add the sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Increase the heat and boil until a think syrup consistency. Then pour into sterilised jars.
Also take a look at the video I did last year for Scoutadelic

I’m using it here in hot water with slices of lemon to help with my hayfever and cold.
Happy Easter everyone, hope you are all enjoying your bank holiday weekend. Here are some great ways to decorate eggs and all from natural sources.
🚨Warning- Shoulder Update🚨
Stitches came out this morning and I don’t need any more dressings!!
Lots more healing and physio to do to reduce the pain. I am a little colourful too but my skin is so relieved to not have any dressing on.
It’s been a gorgeous Sunday and one that many will have been out in the garden. It’s going ti be a while before I can get back out there to do the usually spring tidy up and plant new things so all I can do it take joy from the abundance of flowering spring bulbs that are just about to open! Keep an eye out for the photo bombs I’m going to be dropping over the next few weeks.
Shoulder update
I’m out of my sling now (using only if I’m struggling), the bruising is coming out & with the help of pain meds I’m beginning to do some light physio.
I get my stitches out on Monday and I can’t wait!! The dressing over lap so cover the majority of my shoulder which is puckering my skin and is incredibly itchy!!
Big thanks to my mum (Karen) for being my taxi when I need running around and for being brave & helping to change my dressing!
I do have the gorey photos but won’t post on here just in case! 😂🙈🤢
Before & after! Log round pathways put in, weeds removed & cucumbers/cucumelons semi-tamed to grow up and over a mini archway I’ve just installed. My arms now tingle from the nettles but 3 hours well spent!
