Quick honesty check: finishing the training doesn't hand you a guaranteed job. What it does is put you through a real assessed process — online learning, then shadowing and supervised leading — so that if you're approved, you're genuinely ready to run sessions, not just certified on paper.

We'd rather tell you that upfront than oversell it. If you want to do this properly, this is how.

"Do I need a teaching qualification to become a foraging tutor?"

No. What you need is real experience — you forage for yourself, you prepare food from what you find, and you know your stuff. The training teaches you the rest: how to read a group, keep people safe in the field, and lead a session that people leave talking about.

Ever led a walk for friends and had them hang on your every word about what's safe to eat and what isn't? That's most of the job.

We're always looking for confident foragers who want to turn that into paid work. Our Foraging Tutor Training is a blended course — half self-paced online learning, half hands-on time shadowing and then leading sessions with real support from us — built for people who already forage well and want to learn how to teach it safely and well.

It's not for total beginners, and it's not a weekend badge, and it's not an online course with a worthless certificate for £10. It's a genuine pathway, and we cover the admin, tax and promotion so you can focus on the bit you're good at.

☀️ Sunday — consolidation session, lunch, home

An update on the Wild Food Weekend.

We set a maximum number of guests to keep it small, but we're not there yet. So I'm reaching out directly — if you've been thinking about it, now is genuinely the time to decide. Booking closes at the end of this week.

11–13 September. Farmhouse near Hereford. Foraging, workshops, chef-led dinners. Everything included.
