Year 11 Masterclasses

This week’s Aspire to Be session featured a mental health therapist who led an open discussion on wellbeing, practical coping tools, and the career pathway into mental health—training, qualifications, and day‑to‑day work. Thanks to our guest and to the students who took part.

At The Heys School we are absolutely delighted to be welcoming a fantastic new cohort of students starting in September 2026. We'll be working with all our primary schools over the next coming weeks to share details about transition events.
If you haven't yet secured your place, we do have some remaining places available to start in September 2026. We would love to welcome you into our growing community.

Dylan has spent his half-term in Belgium with the Rochdale Academy youth squads, taking on several Belgian Pro League clubs — and he’s come home with some incredible achievements.

Across the tour, he finished as the joint top goal scorer across all youth development squads, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists in just 2 games.

He earned Player of the Match vs FC Mechelen and delivered a stunning hat-trick against Royal Antwerp FC.

What an outstanding week of football, commitment, and talent.

🌟Student Superstar🌟
Asa has made an outstanding start to Year 10. He is fully engaged in lessons, has 100% attendance, is always kind and supportive of others, and consistently strives to do his best. Asa plays the Spanish guitar and has shown great resilience. He is a role model who follows and upholds the school values in every aspect of school life.

Year 7 Netball 8–2 Derby
A commanding performance from our Year 7s saw them secure an 8–2 victory over Derby. The team combined quick passing and disciplined defence to control the game from start to finish. Huge well done to every player and Mrs Kelly for an outstanding performance.

📚 Year 10 English – Macbeth in Focus

Our Year 10 students have been diving deep into Macbeth today, analysing Act 1, Scene 3 and exploring how Shakespeare introduces the witches, fate, and ambition.

Brilliant discussion, thoughtful annotations, and some excellent interpretations emerging across the year group.
Great work, Year 10 — keep pushing your thinking and challenging the text.
