Part1.1 : IELTS Speaking: Nailing the "Full Name" Question
The very first common question in an IELTS exam is: "Can you tell me your full name, please?"
Most of us answer like this:
"I'm Nazrin Onnesha"
"My name is Nazrin Onnesha"
But a Band 9 answer should be like this:
Since the question starts with "Can," your response should begin with "Certainly" (which means "sure" or "of course"). You can start with:
"Certainly! My full name is Nazrin Onnesha."
Then, add some extra information, such as:
"I am commonly known by my nickname, Onnesha."
"In my workplace, I am known as Nazrin Miss."
The Complete Band 9 Answer:
"Certainly, my full name is Nazrin Onnesha. I am commonly known by my nickname, Onnesha."
Alternatively, you could say:
"Certainly, my full name is Nazrin Onnesha. I am commonly known in my workplace as Nazrin Miss."
