🌿🌞 Outdoor Training with Our MiChild Family 🌞🌿

Our team recently had the opportunity to attend an inspiring Outdoor Training session, hosted at one of our wonderful sister nurseries. 🌳💚

It was a fantastic day spent connecting with colleagues from across the MiChild family, sharing ideas, exploring best practice, and embracing the endless learning opportunities that outdoor environments provide.

This training focused on outdoor exploration for children of all ages, encouraging immersive, meaningful play in all weathers 🌦️

A huge thank you to our incredible senior team for delivering a very enjoyable session.

🌞 Exploring Trajectory and Cause & Effect 🌞

The babies enjoyed rolling balls down different ramps and tunnels. 🏀✨

They watched carefully as the balls moved at different speeds and travelled in different directions. The children were excited to see what happened each time they rolled a ball, helping them learn about cause and effect.

There were lots of smiles and opportunities to share the experience with friends as they explored and repeated their actions.

🌿☀️ Our Nature Mornings are a huge hit at Sunbeams! ☀️🌿

We have been heading straight into our garden space first thing in the morning to make the most of the beautiful weather and enjoy the great outdoors.

Today, our children started the day by painting and exploring the flowers around them. We have become very interested in the colourful blooms that are appearing everywhere, which sparked some brilliant conversations about nature, growth, colours, and the changing seasons.

These experiences provide wonderful opportunities for children to develop their curiosity, creativity, communication skills, and understanding of the world around them. We can't wait to see what other discoveries our garden has in store for us! 🌸🎨🌼

🌞We have been exploring an exciting invitation to play using ramps and wooden reels. The children showed fantastic concentration as they worked collaboratively, testing ideas and exploring how the reels moved in different ways.

As their play developed, the children naturally introduced new language into their conversations and even used measuring tapes to investigate how far the reels traveled!

What happened next was amazing to observe… the children extended this learning independently through their own child-led play. They worked together to share ideas and bring their imaginative creations to life, building ramps and “catching dens” for the cars. Throughout the session, they continued to adapt, build and extend their play, demonstrating creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. 🧡💚🧡

🌞 Messy Maths in Action! 🌞

Our little ones had so much fun taking part in our messy maths activity! From counting and sorting to exploring numbers through sensory play, the children loved getting messy while learning through play. 🧡💚

The activity was a huge hit, and it was wonderful to see how many learning opportunities could be incorporated through such a fun and creative experience. The children explored maths skills while building confidence, communication, curiosity, and imagination.

A big thank you again to Chantelle from our sister nursery, The Village Nursery, for sharing this fantastic activity with our team. ✨

Our practitioners also loved seeing how messy maths can be tailored to suit different ages, stages of development, children’s interests, and next steps across all playrooms. 🌞

🌞🐝 This week we have celebrated World Bee Day across all of our rooms!

Throughout the week, the children have taken part in lots of bee themed activities including messy play, sensory exploration, role play, creative crafts, stories and small world learning. 🐝

Across all age ranges, we have been learning about why bees are important to nature and the world around us. The children have explored how bees help flowers grow and why we should look after insects and our environment. 🌸🌍

🌞 COMMUNITY SHOUT OUT 🌞

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our amazing preschool mums has now completed her sponsored skydive! ✈️ What an incredible achievement, and such a brave challenge taken on to support a truly wonderful cause.

She has been raising money for a children’s cancer charity that helps create special memories, joy, and magical experiences for children and families going through incredibly difficult times.

We are so proud of the kindness, courage, and support shown within our community, it really is something so special. 🌞
