National Play Day at The Addy 🛝💜

We took some of our holiday club children over to The Adventure playground in Wythenshawe for their National Play Day open day and honestly… I think we enjoyed it just as much as the kids 😂

This one was a little bit special- One of our team spent a huge part of her career with Manchester Young Lives while bringing up her own children, and now her son works at The Addy too!
So getting to go back with us, bring her grandchildren along and watch another little generation enjoy it was such a lovely full-circle moment 💜

This is exactly what I wanted our holiday club to be about. I never wanted the kids stuck in the same hall every day 🙈 If there’s somewhere to explore, something new to try or an adventure to be had… we’re probably going 😂

The kids climbed, explored, got stuck in and basically had the freedom to just be kids for the day 🥰

Teamwork, listening and lots of laughter! ⚽️

The children took part in a fun team challenge that encouraged communication, patience and problem-solving while staying active and having such a laugh. Karen is great at creating games where every child can get involved, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun! 💜💙

🍕 Week 2: Mini Chefs is officially here! 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳

What a fantastic first day! Our mini chefs learned how to safely chop, grate and portion ingredients while discovering the different food groups needed to create a healthy, balanced snack. 🥒🧀🍅

Not only did they make their very own pitta pizzas, but they also enjoyed eating them together, encouraging healthy choices and supporting a healthy, active lifestyle through fun, hands-on learning. 💜

🍪 The fun doesn’t stop here! We’ll be baking plenty more tasty treats all week, taking on our exciting Supermarket Challenge this Wednesday, learning new cooking skills, working as a team and creating lots of delicious recipes together.
