On Monday the children made a stick maze by problem solving & teamwork. They collected different shapes and sizes of sticks and worked together to transport them. The children laid them out in their own arrangements to build a structured path. They were able to follow the path before rearranging and changing direction.

In Forest school this week, we have spoken about where blackberries grow and in what season. The children then used wooden hammers to pound the blackberries to release the pigment and juice. We used this as our own natural paint and used it to create some beautiful pictures.

Our Deputy Manager Beck climbed Scafell Pike yesterday in just under 4 hours!
The weather stayed mostly dry until they reached the summit but thankfully they were wearing our waterproof coats which kept them dry enough.
Well done ladies, such an achievement.

We learned some fun facts about conkers, where & how they grow in what seasons and what animals like to eat them. Then we did some conker rolling outside & inside. We spoke about the speed they rolled. Some children measured how far using the tape measure.

In Forest school today, the children painted some pinecones then had a try of tying their own knots with string to create our pinecone mobile.

Some of our children enjoyed spending some time in the nature garden making nature crowns and a den using long sticks and twigs.
The children are loving their Forest school sessions.

In Forest school today the children have made some clay hedgehogs.
They used the tools to manipulate the clay and create different patterns. We encourage the children to use the tools carefully and follow instructions during their sessions.

Our toddlers have started their self serving journey to help support their transition into their next room in September.

This specific skill helps promote the children's independence, strengthen their gross motor skills and also encourage them to learn about control and portion sizes. They discuss the safety of using cutlery and how to spread and cut foods appropriately.
