The Preschool two children have explored all things Greek this week.
We have created our own individual and large scale Mosaic pictures, made some leaf crowns and dressed like Greek Gods.
As part of our enrichment programme we have also tasted and prepared some delicious Greek foods including; feta cheese, hummus, aubergine and olives.

The preschool children have been planting some new seeds as part of our enrichment programme. They are going to be watering them and learning about the cycles of different flowers and plants.

*Calling all parents* Do you know what/who a Nursery DSL is?

A DSL is a designated member of the management team who is responsible for overseeing safeguarding and child protection within the Nursery. At Thrive Lark Hill the designated safeguarding lead is myself Katie Phillips. It is my responsibility to ensure that all policies, procedures and guidance are adhered to and followed competently and confidently with children's wellbeing and safety being top priority . I have attended the relevant training during my time working in Nurseries , In which I have recently completed a 6 hour CPD training with the Early Years Hub. The children in preschool requested to make their own medals after taking an interest in Jane's morris dancing medals.
They choose their own shapes and decorated them with mixed materials, promoting our mathematical learning.

Lots of messy fun this morning!

Shredded paper is always a hit with our children as it creates multiple learning opportunities, including beneficial role play experiences and prompts for discussions between the children.
