Chit Chat Chai

I can't believe it's been so long since our last post! We've obviously been so busy, which is true. Our fabulous volunteer team, off and on site continue to provide a brilliant space for women learning English, socialising in our cafe space afterwards, recently doing yoga finishing off our Health theme and so much more. It'll be quieter during Ramadan, however are classes will still be running. In the summer we will again be providing cycling lessons.
We have also been working on a website...so exciting.

Making sandwiches in the Red Group was a great way to learn English and they were very welcome in the café😊

Ramadan in Chit Chat Chai 🌜

Lovely morning yesterday in the city art gallery. We focused on women and work💛

What a brilliant start to the year!💛 Chit Chat Chai started 2025 with the topic "health". We will have a GP coming next Monday.

On Monday, January 3rd, we visited the Manchester Art Gallery. Our students loved the visit and the welcome, and will return with their families

We are still having fun teaching, learning, eating together and connecting. The excellent hot soups are very appreciated in this cold winter💛

What a fantastic day we had at the St. Margaret’s Community Centre! We created, chatted, and strengthened the spirit of community🤩24 women turned up altogether! We learned how to light fires, put up a tent, looked at plants growing in the field and garden, created art using flowers and leaves for decorating tote bags and finished with a delicious lunch cooked by Tibetan Kitchen. We enjoyed every moment. Best of all were the smiles and connecting with women from Safety 4 Sisters🥰

What a day yesterday! We opened the "Chit Chat Chai Museum": we are continuing from our visit to the Manchester museum. Enjoy knowing the items that are important to us. One of our students (whom we don’t name for privacy) gave a brilliant presentation about incense from Libya. Ravinder read her poem, published in a magazine when she was 12 yo. And then Jane presented the Women's rights campaign badges. And we showed our Clean Air banner. Thank you all!

The Manchester Museum trip was a success. The museum was great, and the staff extremely helpful.The learners learned new words, connected with the community, and will be returning with their children! Next week it's half term. When we return we are planning our lessons to include creating our own museum in the café area.

Despite the cold weather, we went for the planned walk to Alexandra park, to discover our local area and new words
