Our Pride Focus in school this week was Personal Excellence. It was wonderful to see how the children have been demonstrating this in school during our celebration assemblies! Well done to all of our certificate achievers this week. We are PROUD of you all! 🤩
We’ve had a wonderful first week back, everywhere has been so busy and purposeful.

A few weeks ago Year 6 took part in a Science session led by Mr Wilkinson from Salford City Academy. They dissected a sheep’s lung in a bid to learn about their function in the circulatory system.
More enrichment club fun today! It is so lovely to see the children enjoying the after school opportunities!

We were so excited to resume face to face celebration assemblies today! It was Y3 and Y4’s turn today and the remaining classes will take place on a Friday. Well done to all of the children who received an award- we are so PROUD of you! 🤩
We were so excited to start our enrichment clubs today after school. Activities include baking, art and craft, board games and sports, which this half term is archery and badminton!
Year 3 enjoyed their first session with Salford Red Devil’s today!
We are so proud of two of our children for demonstrating our PRIDE values this half term. They were visiting the beach and were upset by the amount of plastic and rubbish so decided to do a beach clean up! They collected many plastic items, one was a washing up liquid bottle that dated from the 1960s, an excellent example of how plastic does not break down and pollutes the seas for a very long time. Well done boys, you are an inspiration ! 💎

After 16 years as the head teacher at Godfrey Ermen, Mrs Clancy has left today to start a new adventure… owning a bakery. Whilst she will be incredibly missed by us all, we are so excited to hear all about her new business (and taste the cakes!). We hope you will join us in thanking her for everything she has done at GEMS and wish her well in her exciting new venture! Remember Mrs Clancy, Once a GEM, always a GEM!
Arrangements for next month's World Book Day - we're doing it on Wednesday 2nd March because we've got some very special visitors...
