Thank you to all the families who attend our Friday Community Lunches! The Toddler Cafe is a joy to be a part of each week; watching this community grow for the children and their families is heartwarming!

Thank you to all our brilliant and dedicated community chefs and cafe volunteers who prepare, cook and share their delicious food with this growing community in Whalley Range.

The Toddler Cafe; a space for young children to develop skills such as preparing food, drinking from open cups and mopping up spills, all at their own pace!

We welcome all families with young children to;

🍞 Free breakfast for all little ones from 9-11 am
🍽️ Community Linch from 11:30; pay what you can afford

Did you know our Toddler Cafe is run entirely by volunteers? …. We are so grateful to the cafe team who work so hard each week to keep our community day running smoothly and joyfully for our families.

🍽️ The Toddler Cafe is our ‘drop in’ community day. It runs every Friday from 9am -1:30pm term time only.

🍞 🍎 All children get a free breakfast from 9-11am thanks to support from local businesses and

👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Each week we welcome a volunteer ‘community chef’ to share a vegan dish with our community.

💰 Lunch is served on a pay what you can afford basis to ensure that all families have access to healthy meals.

🪑 The Toddler Cafe supports the needs of our smallest members… all furniture is child height and supports families with children from 6 months to 4 years to eat well, together!

🧽 Cloths are at hand for children to mop up spills and wipe their hands and faces - we encourage children and families to care for themselves and the space

🪴 Our beautiful garden space has mud kitchens and a mound for little ones to explore

🧸 We have a small selection of toys and books for families to enjoy together

❓ Who’s it for? The Toddler Cafe welcomes ALL families with children from 0-4 years. Expectant families are very welcome to come along too, it’s a great way to meet other families in the area.

🍞 Did you know, at The Bird Box all young children can enjoy a free breakfast alongside other children and families.

🪑 Sitting together at child height supports children’s social development skills and we’re often told that children are more willing to try new foods and are engaged for longer as a result.

🧼 Children have access to cloths for mopping up spills and towels for their hands and faces. We encourage everyone to model and take responsibility for the space.

🖼️ Visual menus support the children to make choices and be involved in the ordering process

📚 You’ll find low stimulation activities on the carpet area such as books and duplo to encourage families to connect and enjoy time together.

The next Children’s Clothes Swap will be on May 11th!

👶 Come along with your little ones for a relaxed way to swap clothes for the next size up!

☕️ Stay and relax with a hot drink, it’s a great way to meet other families with little ones and to chat to Bird Box staff.

🧸 A small indoor place space to keep little ones occupied

🍲 Come for lunch! Hot food and drinks available throughout.

🪴 Enjoy our lovely garden space - we have mud kitchens and the mound for toddlers to explore.

🤰Come along if you are expecting, we often have lots of newborn clothes. No need to swap.

The Clothes Swap is open to everyone with young children. Suggested donation £5 / pay what you can afford.
