“We look forward to our Bird Box sessions! From our first one we have been made so welcome. Having attended various playgroups over the past 3 decades with my own and other children I can honestly say I’ve never attended anything else that provides life skills and learning in such a fun, engaging and tailored approach. Amy and the team put so much thought and effort into each themed session. Their genuine interest both in the children and adults who attended is very evident. Book a taster session like I did and come and see for yourself!”

The next Children’s Clothes Swap will be on Monday 5th October 12:00 - 2:30pm

👶 Come along with your little ones for a relaxed way to swap clothes for the next size up!

☕️ Stay and relax with a hot drink, it’s a great way to meet other families with little ones and to chat to Bird Box staff.

🧸 A small indoor play space to keep little ones occupied

🍲 Come for lunch! Hot food and drinks available throughout.

🪴 Enjoy our lovely garden space - we have mud kitchens and the mound for toddlers to explore.

🤰Come along if you are expecting, we often have lots of newborn clothes. No need to swap.

The Clothes Swap is open to everyone with young children. Suggested donation £5 / pay what you can afford.

Good news ….Our Children’s Clothes swap will return again this year.

But we need a little bit of help! We’d like to make them seasonal and are looking for donations of Autumn / Winter clothes ages 0-4years. 🍂

📅 Our next clothes swap will be Monday 5th October!

👖 If you’re not attending the clothes swap but would like to donate - You can drop clothes off at Friday Toddler Cafe between 9am -1:30pm

✅ Please ensure clothes are good quality and stain free.

♻️ Alternatively you can bring them along on the day to swap for the next size up!

The Bird Box originally began to support families with toddlers through to preschool. Our first year focused on the development of our unique Fledglings programme.

Now in its fourth year you can discover the magic of Fledglings at our new home in Whalley Range…

We have created a year long programme to support you and your little ones through a full academic year!

Using a Montessori approach, Fledglings is an engaging and progressive class for children aged 2-4 years and their grown ups. Our annual curriculum provides 36 weeks of carefully considered and beautifully curated activities inspired by the world around us.

Focused on strengthening the connection between parent and child, in each session you will be introduced to a range of activities designed to support preschool readiness and practical life skills.

Led by the child, guided by the parent, and supported by trained facilitators.

We offer a range of ticket options across our unique Bird Box programme to ensure we are accessible to all. We also offer a free drop in space every Friday during term time at our Toddler Cafe.

Our new timetable for 2026 is here! 📆

What’s new 👀 ?

🧘‍♂️ We are delighted to offer accessible antenatal and postnatal yoga classes thanks to funding from Sport England X 🙌 Welcome to The Bird Box family!

🌱 Having consulted with our community, we are also excited to be offering a fortnightly Dad’s group for mixed ages, 0-4 years! We hope this group will continue to shape and grow around those that use it.

⭐ Booking is now live through our updated website with thanks to our wonderful volunteer Elizabeth Lila Harrison who has worked so hard to bring this platform to life 🙏
