I’ve noticed my clients are most nervous about conch piercing. Of all the piercings I offer, it’s always the conch people are really worried about. So let’s go through some of the common questions and concerns I get asked about conch piercing.

Will it hurt?
I never tell anyone piercings don’t hurt, they do and to say otherwise would be a lie. However, conch piercing is a very quick piercing. Due to its location, it’s super fast. Unlike something like a forward helix or tragus, when piercing I don’t need to be overly conscience of hitting other parts of the ear. I always say to my clients, by the time you’ve realised what’s happening, it’s done. So yes it can hurt, but not as bad as your imagining.

Can I wear headphones?
Most in-ear headphones are fine with a new conch piercing, I would say to avoid over-ear headphone for initial healing period as they can put too much pressure on the new piercing and cause the jewellery to shift.

When can I put a ring in?
Not straight away. As with any new piercing, I’d advise waiting at least 3 months from the piercing date before putting a ring in. Doing it too quickly can result in irritation and delaying healing.

Conch piercing are one of my favourites to pierce and I think they look sooo pretty.

Did you know I offer ear curation? ✨

Ear curation allows you to plan future ear piercings, choose the jewellery you would like and get an idea of what your ear will look like before you have a single piercing.

Using the same software the tattoo artist use for their designs, I am able to make a mock up of your ear and show the jewellery and placement you would like.

I offer different ways of payment including pay-by-piercing, pay of all piercings or jewellery in one go and receive 10% off or pay for everything in one go and get 20% off.

Please note, we only advise doing three piercings in three months so if you have more than three piercings planned these would be divided over multiple appointments.

Jewellery downsizing, why is it so important?

When will do the initial piercing, we have to piercing with a longer bar. The reason for this is swelling. Swelling in piercing is extremely common and we have to allow room for that swelling.

However, we don’t want to leave the longer bar in for too long. Having the long bar in once the swelling has settled can then cause other problems, such are irritation bumps from increased movement, cause catching and snagging and jewellery shifting.

I offer downsizing appointments at the earliest two weeks after the initial piercing. Some people might need to wait a bit longer.

One of my favs to pierce ✨

My client had booked in for an industrial piercing, however I quickly determined she didn’t have the right anatomy for such a heavy piercing.

After consultation, we both agreed that this faux industrial with a chain instead of a bar would be the best fit for her. It’s turned out so cute ❤️

Part of body piercing is managing peoples expectations and sometimes having to tell them the piercing they want, isn’t right for them.

When this happens I always do my best find a solution, something that will work better and still make the client happy. I never push clients into having a piercing, if you can’t have the one you want and can’t think in-vision something else, that’s fine!

In this case, we found a perfect compromise and it’s a lovely, more delicate alternative to industrial.
