Also a reminder to all parent's whose children will be starting school September 2026, the deadline to apply for your child's primary school place is Thursday 15th January 2026.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful nursery parents for your incredible generosity during Christmas Jumper Week last week. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to collect an amazing number of food items to donate to our local food bank.

The photos shared are just a small snapshot of the many items we received — the response truly has been overwhelming. Our Big Explorers have already made two trips to the food bank to drop off donations, with another couple of visits planned for this week.

We are so proud of our children and so grateful to our families for helping us support our local community. What a lovely way to spread kindness this Christmas 🎅✨ 🙏

Our nursery children had an amazing time at their Christmas party today! There were fun games, lots of dancing, delicious festive treats, and even a very special visit from Santa himself! 🎅💫 The smiles and excitement made the day truly magical. ❤️ 🎄

🎶 Nursery Rhyme Week is here! 🎶

This week, our babies and toddlers will be enjoying a fun-filled week of nursery rhymes and exciting themed activities. From singing and dancing to creative play inspired by their favourite rhymes, it’s going to be a week full of music, laughter, and learning! 💕✨

The team from Melo, Onside’s early support service, will be giving an online presentation about the support they offer for children and young people aged 0–25, including those who have additional needs, a disability or are neurodivergent.
Melo offers:
✨ One-to-one emotional wellbeing support
✨ Creative therapies like music, play & art therapy
✨ Practical tools to build resilience for children, young people & families

The session will cover:
ℹ️ What Melo is and who it supports
ℹ️ The types of activities and therapies available (such as one-to-one support, play, music and art therapy)
ℹ️ How families can access the service
ℹ️ How Melo can be adapted to suit the needs of children & young people with SEND
This is an opportunity to hear directly from the team and ask your questions.

As you may know, Playhouse is part of Operation Encompass which is a national scheme that operates jointly between Early Years Settings, schools, and police forces. We are keen to offer the best support possible to all children in our care and their parents, we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.

With this in mind we would like to highlight that at 3pm tomorrow (Sunday 7th September), a UK-wide test of an emergency alert system will take place on EVERY MOBILE PHONE in the country. This loud alarm will sound on your phone and make it vibrate, even if it is switched to silent or notification's are off.

If you're living with domestic abuse and you have a mobile phone hidden in your house "just in case", please remember to switch it off on Sunday 7th September 2025 Your hidden phone must be switched off completely during this time to avoid discovery.
