Swinton Preschool Playgroup Welcome to our preschool where little learners explore, discover, and grow! With a newly refurbished preschool learning classroom.

We believe in nurturing curiosity and fostering a love for learning through play-based activities with a highly qualified and experienced team. Located near Malton, North Yorkshire, Swinton preschool Playgroup is open Mon-fri 9am - 3pm. Swinton preschool Playgroup has been established for 40 years and with a motto of ‘learn discover, grow’, we aim to offer a fun and varied environment for childre

n at the very beginning of their education. The playgroup, which runs during school term-time, operates from the Reading Rooms in Swinton. Access to a large outdoor play area is encouraged whenever the weather allows and is often requested even when wellies and waterproofs are required.

🌿 What a lovely Stay & Play! 🌿

We had such a wonderful afternoon yesterday at our Stay & Play today! 💚

It was so lovely to welcome new faces, spend time with some of our current preschool families, and even catch up with some familiar faces from the past. 🥰

The children had a fantastic time playing, exploring and making new friends, while the grown-ups enjoyed a cuppa, a chat and the chance to get to know each other too. ☕✨

There's something really special about seeing families come together like this, and it was exactly what we hoped our Stay & Play sessions would be – a relaxed, welcoming space for children and their grown-ups to connect.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the afternoon so lovely. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! 💚

🌞🌙 Solar Eclipse Tonight! 🌙🌞

Something very exciting is happening in our skies this evening – a partial solar eclipse! ✨

We know lots of our little explorers may be excited to see it, so we wanted to share this simple video showing how you can make a safe solar eclipse viewer using a cereal box 📦☀️

It's a brilliant little activity to make together and means children can watch the eclipse without looking directly at the Sun. 👀❤️

⚠️ Please remember: Never allow children to look directly at the Sun, even during an eclipse, and ordinary sunglasses are not safe for eclipse viewing.

Why not make your viewer together this afternoon and see what you can spot tonight? We'd love to see photos of your creations! 📸🥰

Sometimes the smallest sessions create the biggest adventures. 🌿💚

We had a lovely morning at our Stay & Play today, enjoying lots of exploring, playing and chatting together. Thank you for joining us!

If you couldn't make it this time, don't worry – we'd love to see you at our next Stay & Play session on Wednesday 19th August, 1–3pm. Everyone is welcome, whether you're already part of our preschool family or just fancy coming along to see what we're all about.

✨ Today's the Day – Stay & Play! ✨

Looking for something to do this morning? We'd love to welcome you to our Stay & Play session today from 10am–12pm at Swinton Preschool Playgroup! 🌿💚

Come along for a relaxed morning of play, exploration and making new friends. There'll be tea, coffee and biscuits for the grown-ups and healthy snacks for the children too. ☕🍎

Our Stay & Play sessions are open to everyone – whether your little one already attends preschool, you're thinking about joining us in the future, or you're simply looking for somewhere friendly to spend the morning. Children aged 0–5 are welcome, and older siblings are welcome too.

No need to book – just come along and say hello! We can't wait to meet you. 💚

✨ And that's a wrap on another incredible year! ✨

What an amazing year it has been here at Swinton Preschool Playgroup. From those first-day nerves to our wonderful summer trip, every day has been filled with laughter, learning, friendships and unforgettable memories. 💚

To our Class of 2026, we are so proud of each and every one of you. Watching you grow in confidence, curiosity and independence has been a privilege, and we know you'll all go on to do amazing things as you begin your next adventure at primary school. 🌟 Good luck – don't forget to come back and tell us how you're getting on!

Today we also said a very emotional goodbye to our wonderful Helen as she begins a well-deserved retirement. 💐 Thank you for your kindness, patience, dedication and the countless smiles you've brought to generations of children and families. You have been such a valued member of our preschool family and you'll be missed more than words can say. Wishing you a retirement filled with happiness, relaxation and plenty of adventures.

Finally, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful families for your continued support throughout the year. We hope you all have a fantastic summer filled with fun, sunshine and special memories.

We can't wait to welcome many of you back in September, along with lots of new faces, ready to Explore, Discover and Grow with us. 🍃💚
