Not quite the post I had envisioned posting tonight but I’m having to down brushes for a few days due to being completely floored by winter illness this end.
Self care can be a hard concept when you are self employed (and a parent!) but I hope to be back to my paint covered self ready for the Studio’s first Christmas Late Night Opening on Tuesday!
All existing online bookings have been moved to next week and this weekend’s workshops and clubs have been moved to the following weekend. Hopefully I’ve managed to contact you all (If not I do apologise as my brain isn’t working as well as I would like right now)!

"Make mental health and wellbeing for all, a global priority"

I have a very personal reason for
posting this today, a year ago I myself
was in mental crisis and it is only due
to the due diligence ,bottomless
patience and empathy of mental health
practitioners that I am still here today
and count myself as a survivor.
This was a turning point for me, it
opened a door that I had long toyed
with idea of and this is how The Paint
Jar came into being!

Painting and art has been a life long
source of self therapy for me and
some of my earliest memories are of
painting and the calm it brought me
when emotions were high. And now as
an adult with just over a decade of
working as a creative practitioner and
running an art studio and workshops
for young children in educational
settings I have time and time again witnessed the transformative effect
that art and creativity has on young
minds and their overall well being.

This lead to my training and qualifying
as an Advanced Drawing and Talking
Therapy Practitioner this year as I
could see that I was not the onlv one
struggling with the whirlwind of
changes that have happened on a
global scale over the past few years.

Everyone should have access to
mental health support, services and
resources. The Paint Jar's ultimate
goal is to provide not only a purpose
built environment for creativity but a
safe space to process emotional needs
and support for each individual's
mental wellbeing through the medium
of art and creativity.
