Malpas War Memorial Upgrade Brief No. 2

The project to add “missing” service
men with Malpas connections to our War Memorial is ongoing.

During Remembrance Day last November two small wooden crosses were placed by the memorial.

The details on the crosses were:

R. Mills, Sergeant Royal Artillery, Died 1918

Tom Smith, Private - Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed 7th August 2015

We currently have 11 missing service men ‘s names to be added to the memorial, but we are anxious to trace the relatives of these two soldiers to establish if they had Malpas connections and should therefore be also added to our memorial.

We're working on an important project to honour our local heroes. During recent commemorations, we discovered some names missing from the Malpas War Memorial. If you know of any Malpas relation or family friend who died in WWI or WWII and isn't on any UK War Memorial, please let us know. Your input is invaluable in ensuring their legacy is remembered.
