It’s the last post from Team B before heading home. We started the day at Kopan Monastery for a session with a Lama about Buddhism and some meditation. Next we travelled to the Monkey Temple. The students enjoyed learning about the cultural significance of the Stupa but were very excited to see monkeys even though we were forced to hand over a bottle of cola. We finished off the day with some pizza. We are all very grateful to our brilliant Global Action leader Ed for an excellent trip to Nepal.

Team B in Nepal visited the Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco Foundation. A very inspirational project that seeks to support the local community through various health, education and farming projects. Our students had a tour of the project, an excellent lunch, a craft session and then some time in the school. It was a big day for the school as they were celebrating Teacher Day.

Group B have safely finished their trek and are now very happy to be in their hotel in Pokhara. The trek took longer than expected due to landslides caused by the rain but being accompanied by a local dog (who they were under strict instructions to not touch) kept them going.

Day 8 in South Africa - 67 minutes of kindness. We travelled out towards Malmesbury this morning to meet Ingrid and her incredible charity at Inspire Children and Youth. Students spent the morning learning about the rural charity and how they support the potential in children, youth and women who live on farms and rural communities. The group spent the morning volunteering 67 minutes of kindness in memory of Mandela. The students had the opportunity to play and dance with the young people of the farm and enjoy dinner with them, their families and those who support and work on the farm. Much to the students dismay, it eventually became time to depart and head to the airport to begin our journey home.

A double update from South Africa:

Day 6 - surfs up!
Our original plan of Table Mountain and surfing was scuppered by low cloud and rain. The group spent a couple of hours in the morning indulging in some retail therapy before heading over to Muizenberg Beach for fish and chips before heading out for a surf lesson. Though rainy, the sea was comfortably warm and a seal joined the the group for a surf!

Day 7 - The group travelled 1086m above sea level to the top of Table Mountain by rotating cable car! The views across Cape Town, Muizenberg and Camps Bay were uninterrupted showing the perfect skies. Following our descent students had the opportunity to finish any souvenir shopping at the V&A Waterfront. Some students were lucky to grab a photo with Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi.
Our final evening was spent enjoying dinner at Kapstadt Brauhaus with live music and great food!

Today Team B were woken up by our guides at 5.30am to witness an incredible view of the mountains. We then trekked down some very slippery steps and made it to our accommodation for the evening. The students got the chance to visit a conservation project, a Buddhist temple and then a museum that offered some dressing up opportunities.
