A big welcome to our new followers. I thought it might be nice to introduce you to ELF Sitters.
I started ELF sitters in 2005 after finding my own babysitting and nanny services were in demand. So much so, I could have up to 20 calls from different families for a Saturday evening babysit. Obviously I couldn't be everywhere at once so thought I would branch out! My first ELF was my big sister, a experienced teacher who fast became a favourite with local families.
From small beginnings to start off with of myself and my sister babysitting for local families I now have around 200 ELFs who work for me across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bristol and Bath. Many of my own family work for me too or have done over the years. Still carefully vetted you may find my niece in the office or managing a creche as well as some of my cousins, Auntie's and sister in law!
From starting as a babysitting agency helping a handful of local families I have expanded the ELF Services to helping thousands of families throughout the south west. In addition to private sitting in the homes the ELF’s provide childcare to so many local hotels and wedding venues. Be it families visiting the area who want a babysitter while they have a meal in the restaurant to a full creche service where we look after groups of children who are attending a wedding or party.
I also provide ELF’s for local charities, primary care trusts, children’s social services and NHS children’s services. I am so proud that we are trusted to help so many vulnerable families within our community and that we are the first point of call for so many referrals.

I am proud of the fact that all my ELF’s are carefully vetted. All of my ELF’s are interviewed in person, they are all police checked (DBS) and they are ID and address checked in addition to taking references to verify their experience.
I know each one of my ELF’s and many have been with me since the very beginning in 2005. I am proud of their professionalism and the positive way in which they represent myself and ELF sitters every time they go out on a booking. I am proud of the feedback that I receive about my ELF’s and the fact that people book time and time again.
I am proud that we provide an essential service to so many local families and also that by doing so are providing an extra income for so many child care professionals in our area. By using ELF sitters, you are using a local home-grown company and helping putting back in to the community by using local child care professionals!
