🎉 Welcome Back St Francis Families! 🎒✨

We are so excited to welcome all the children back to school this Thursday! We hope everyone had a fantastic summer and is ready for an action-packed new term.

Your PTA has been busy behind the scenes planning some wonderful events for this half term. Take a look at what’s coming up on our schedule:

☕ Every Friday (Starting 25th Sept): Coffee Mama Cart on site from 7:30 AM! Grab a morning caffeine boost and stick around at drop-off for a friendly catch-up with other parents. It’s a great chance to chat, connect, and ease into the weekend together.

🪩 Friday 25th September: Back to School Disco (EYFS & KS1: 3:15–4:30 PM | KS2: 4:45–6:00 PM)

👟🚲 Monday 5th October: Heels & Wheels Challenge

👕 Wednesday 21st October: Little Recyclers Collection (Perfect timing for your autumn wardrobe clear-out!)

To make our Disco and the Heels & Wheels event possible, we urgently need parent volunteers.

Disco: minimum 6 helpers needed per session.
Heels & Wheels: 2 helpers needed per hour throughout the school day.

🏆 THE GREAT ST FRANCIS BAKE OFF COMPETITION RESULTS! 🏆

A massive thank you to everyone who baked, tasted, and voted at Sports Day today! The goodies went down an absolute treat, and everyone said how incredibly delicious everything was.

The voting was fiercely competitive, but the counts are officially in. Please give a huge congratulations to our crowned champions:

Fun Fact: The voting for this category was incredibly close—with just two votes in it, we even did a full recount to double-check the result!

☀️ It’s Tuesday 21 July, the sun will be shining, and TODAY IS SPORTS DAY! 🏃‍♀️🏆

Good luck to all the children taking part today. We can't wait to see your team spirit and determination in action! 🎉👏

Be sure to buy a 50p token to become an official taste-tester. Try the amazing range of cakes, cookies, and traybakes, and cast your vote for the best entries! 🎟️🗳️

We will be crowning the winners of each category (cookies, cupcakes, scones, cakes etc) soon! Who will hold the prestigious title this year? 👑🥇

🥤 Snacks & Refreshments Stall
We will also have a refreshments stall open throughout the day to keep everyone fuelled and hydrated! 🍿🥤

We will have a range of cold drinks, snacks, and, most importantly... ICE POPS! 🧊🍦 Perfect for cooling down after the races! ☀️

🎂 THE GREAT ST FRANCIS BAKE OFF: CALLING ALL BUDDERS & TASTE-TESTERS! 🎂

With Sports Day on Tuesday 21 July fast approaching, it is time to finalise those signature recipes! Whether you are an expert baker or just love a bit of weekend mixing, we want your cakes, cookies, and traybakes.

Here is everything you need to know about how the day will work:

🚗 Drop-Off Information (Bakers)

Please bring your completed bakes to the school field between 10:00am and 10:30am.

Note: This is before the children arrive on the field so we can get set up safely.

Allergens: You must provide a full list of ingredients/allergens with your bake so we can display it safely to everyone.

Get Creative: Don't forget to tell us what you've baked and give it a fun, creative name!

🎟️ Be Our Paul & Prue! (How to Vote)

Pop along to our Bake Off stall on the day and buy a voting token for just 50p.

Your token entitles you to a little nibble of the entries so you can taste-test the field and cast your vote for the absolute best!

🏆 The Categories & The Glory
If we get enough variety, we will be crowning a winner for each distinct category (cookies, cupcakes, scones, cakes, etc.). Holding the title of The Great St Francis Bake Off Champion for the next year carries immense prestige - it is definitely one to boast about to your friends and neighbours!

⛺ Can You Help Us Borrow a Gazebo?
To keep all these wonderful creations fresh and under cover, we need to borrow a few pop-up gazebos for the day. If you have one we could use, please drop us a message or comment below as soon as possible!

Last week we sent something very special in the post… 📦✨

Our children have been busy creating cards, artwork and heartfelt letters to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. Every piece was filled with creativity, care, and admiration for someone who has inspired generations to love and protect our planet.

The box itself was decorated with stickers and our school logo — we’re hoping it stands out and makes its way safely to him! 🤞

We’re so proud of the effort the children put in — truly blown away by their thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. Now we wait and hope Sir David enjoys his post… and maybe even replies! 💚🌍
