This week we have been to White Elm farm, Layer Marney Tower and Hyde Hall. Lots of fun exploring, rolling down the hill, playing music and dancing. We sit and tell stories, check knowledge on past topics, colours, shapes and sing nursery rhymes etc. Everything is about learning across the 7 areas of development.

Another busy and very hot 🥵 week! We have made some fantastic summer craft, we’ve visited White Elm farm, Lathcoates and Chelmer park, and thoroughly enjoyed Barleylands where we got very involved with the foam party! We also washed the buggies which helped us keep cool!

Another lovely week in the sun! The summer holidays are flying past. This week we have been to the Gruffalo woods, Elms farm and Danbury woods. We played with lots of ‘Doing’ toys which included numbers, letters, colours, and shapes. We’ve read books and seen an unusual moth caterpillar and we’ve had fun washing the van and car and generally getting soaking wet!

This week has been a combination of mini beasts and summer. Lovely craft and activities along with visits to The Gruffalo woods where we did a bug hunt and we went to Hanningfield Reservoir. We made pasta snacks, a huge sunshine and we had water play.

We are still doing our ‘Under the sea’ topic so we went to Mersea beach and we did some fish tasting. We had Tuna, prawns, cod, anchovy, smoked salmon and sardines! All the children tried everything so super proud of them! We also saw a jellyfish 🪼

Feeling hot hot hot 🥵
So we started off the week visiting Hanningfield reservoir then the rest of the week hiding from the sun!
Our topic has been ‘Under the sea’ and insects. We’ve had water and sand play, ice play, books, puzzles, talked about pollution and our seas, counting, singing, made biscuits, had water bombs, covered phonics and we did some meditation in the garden!

A busy week with the end of our transport topic in style as we were lucky to sit in a two seater plane and see the air ambulance up close. We also had messy play and a car wash. Lucky kids! And of course Father’s Day which is tomorrow. We also fitted in an activity day at Danbury woods!
