Towards the end of the academic year, our Year 10 students took part in Work Experience Week, spending time in a range of professional environments and gaining valuable insight into the world of work.
This was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore different career pathways, develop their confidence and build important skills that will support them in the future. From communication and teamwork to organisation and independence, students gained first-hand experience of what working life can look like across a variety of sectors.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 10 students approached the week, showing enthusiasm, maturity and a positive attitude throughout their placements.
As they prepare to become Year 11 students in September, we hope this experience has helped inspire their next steps and given them valuable skills to take forward.

On Monday, 29 June, we were delighted to welcome students to our SST Sixth Form Induction Day.
It was wonderful to see so many of our current Year 11 students, as well as students joining us from other schools, experiencing what Sixth Form life at SST has to offer.
The day began with breakfast in the common room, followed by an assembly introducing students to SST Sixth Form, the structure of the day and the key information leading up to GCSE Results Day and enrolment. Throughout the day, students took part in a range of A Level taster lessons, including a session with Mr Tebbutt our Head of Sixth Form, and our current Year 12 Senior Prefects.
At lunchtime, students enjoyed the sunshine with a variety of garden games and a rounders match, giving them the chance to relax, meet one another and get to know the Sixth Form community.
We would also like to thank our current Year 12 students, who represented SST Sixth Form brilliantly throughout the day. They helped answer questions, supported activities and helped external students navigate the school.
We hope everyone enjoyed the induction programme and gained an insight into life at SST Sixth Form. We look forward to welcoming students back on GCSE Results Day, Thursday, 20 August, when they will be able to enrol for Sixth Form study.
Internal students can enrol from 8am, and external students can enrol between 10.30am and 2pm.

Last term, our Year 8 and Year 9 Girls’ Rounders teams represented SST at the Maidstone Schools Rounders Tournament.
Both teams performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, showing excellent teamwork, determination and resilience, despite a heavy downpour near the end of the event.
We are delighted to share that both teams finished in second place out of eight schools, which is a fantastic achievement.
Well done to all of the students who took part. We look forward to more opportunities for students to represent SST across a range of sports in the new academic year.

We hope all of our new students and their families have a lovely summer, and we look forward to seeing them again very soon, this time in SST uniform!

SST Sports Day 2026
Sports Day was a fantastic experience for all students and was split across two days to ensure student safety during the hot weather.
By spreading the events across Monday and Tuesday, we were able to run activities during the cooler parts of the day, while still giving students the opportunity to take part in a wide range of events.
On Monday, students took part in a variety of team games, giving everyone the chance to get involved, contribute to their House and enjoy the day with their peers. The introduction of our new inflatables was a real highlight, with students thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to take part in something different and exciting.
On Tuesday, the focus moved to the track events, including the 100m, 200m and relay races. These events were highly competitive, with students showing excellent effort, determination and support for one another. The day finished with tug of war, which created a brilliant atmosphere and brought students together in a fun and competitive way.
Across both days, students demonstrated great enthusiasm, teamwork and resilience. It was fantastic to see so many students taking part, supporting each other and creating such a positive Sports Day experience.
The results were shared during our last day of term celebration assembly, where we celebrated team achievements and announced Einstein as the winning House!
Well done to all students who took part. We look forward to more sports activities, clubs and competitions next academic year!

A reminder that Sports Day will now take place across two mornings due to the current hot weather.
Sports Day events will take place on Monday, 6 July, during Periods 1 to 3, and Tuesday, 7 July, during Periods 1 to 2.
Whilst the mornings will be cooler than the afternoons, students should still ensure they regularly reapply sunscreen throughout the day and bring a refillable water bottle and a hat to help them stay cool.
Students are encouraged to wear their House PE shirt, as they can earn house points for doing so.
Lunch service will run as normal. Students who would like to buy an ice cream from the ice cream van should bring their card, as cash will not be accepted.
We look forward to a fun, action packed Sports Day!
