Flexi-school Dyslexia A Unique place of Learning For Children with Dyslexia, learning anxiety & Related Learning Differences. But, over the years 8 pupils has grown to 80!

10 years ago this September, a new concept in teaching children with
dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and related learning issues opened its doors. Former secondary school teacher Narinda Algar, of Culverstone, Kent,
was so buoyed by the success and improvement she enjoyed by 'flexi-schooling'
her own dyslexic daughter Lucia Algar, 10, that she opened her own
flexi-school, located in the Village Hall in Harvel. So we moved to the equally beautiful Wrotham. The requirement to call the provision 'Flexi-Schooling' is now long gone. FSD is a known specialist provision, with qualified, specialist teachers ensuring high quality teaching & learning. To attend an agreement between the parent and the child's headteacher to
take the child out of school for sessions to participate in other activities is required. FSD is designed to be an affordable, temporary option in place of
specialist or private schooling. Schools do not suffer loss in any way, as they still
get full funding for the pupil, the pupil's attainment raises and Ofsted attendance
ratings are not affected. The student still enjoys everything at School whilst getting
the extra tuition they need in a safe & supportive environment catering for their
learning style.

Such an important film. One of our clients have experienced just this situation (we are supporting them at Tribunal in November). Local Authorities and some Head Teachers need to be held accountable for this bullish and inhumane behaviour. I too will fight this practice all I can.

These difficulties can sometimes leave bright and capable children feeling frustrated or lacking confidence.

With the right specialist teaching, strategies and understanding, dyslexic learners can develop their skills, recognise their strengths and become much more confident in their learning.

At Flexi-SchoolDyslexia, we provide specialist dyslexia support in small, supportive groups where pupils can learn at a pace that works for them.
