Elective Home Education Kent The Elective Home Education team's role is to offer support and advice to home educating families.

This purpose of this page is to share events, information and resources that home educators may find useful. Parents have a responsibility to make sure that their child is educated. Most children attend school for their education, but parents have the right to educate their child at home, called elective home education (EHE). There are many reasons parents decide to educate their child at home, like religion, personal preference, their child's specific need or as a short term intervention. Educating your child at home is a big commitment and will require a great deal of your time and energy, but when you are properly engaged in your child’s education it can be beneficial and satisfying experience for both parents and children. If you are educating your child at home, you need to make sure you are giving them a suitable full time education from the start of the term following their 5th birthday. A group for SEND Young people aged 12+ years to socialise and learn new skills in a safe, relaxed environment. This group is for young People who may find it difficult to access mainstream groups and would like some support to build their confidence.

The group numbers are lower to meet the needs of everyone attending and to create a calmer environment.

Money skills for real life 💷 FOR TEENAGERS

How much does it actually cost to live independently? How do you build a budget that works? And when is borrowing useful or potentially a problem?

This October we're running three practical Money Skills workshops for teenagers at Better EdSpace in East Grinstead.

Tuesday 6 October, 4:30–5:30pm
The Cost of Living Independently

Tuesday 13 October, 4:30–5:30pm
Building & Balancing a Budget

Tuesday 20 October, 4:30–5:30pm
Borrowing, Saving & Dealing with Debt

Suitable for 14–15 year olds. Each workshop is £15 and can be booked individually.

These are practical, discussion-based sessions designed to help young people understand the financial decisions they'll increasingly be making for themselves.

£15 per workshop. Book one, two or all three.
