⭐ Invicta celebrates outstanding GCSE results! ⭐

We are delighted to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our Year 11 students following another fantastic set of GCSE results at Invicta Grammar School.

Students at Invicta Grammar School achieved a fantastic set of GCSE results following the record-breaking A Level results last week. This year has seen an exceptional set of results achieved by our Year 11 students, with 61% of all grades being 7, 8 or 9 and 18% of all grades being grade 9s. These impressive outcomes reflect our students’ dedication to their studies, work ethic and aspirations.

Van Beales, Headteacher, commented, “We are immensely proud of our students, and our staff, for their dedication and hard work in achieving these well-deserved achievements. Our impressive GCSE results, along with our outstanding A Level achievements, continue to make Invicta the top choice for secondary education in Kent.”

Amongst the most exceptional performances:

- 19 students achieved 8 grade 9s or more.

- Six students achieved at least 10 grade 9s. These were Priya, Isabella, Sofiya, Kelsey, Eliza and Shreya.

- Sofiya and Shreya both achieved a full set of 11 grade 9s.

A special mention must go to Priya, who achieved 10 grade 9s as well as being recognised as the national highest performer in Cambridge OCR’s GCSE in Classical Civilisation.

These are incredible achievements for our students, and we are immensely proud of all they have achieved.

Sixth Form Enrolment on GCSE Results Day

Students applying to join Invicta Grammar School Sixth Form can enrol on GCSE Results Day, Thursday, 20 August 2026, between 12.00pm and 2.00pm.

Before arriving at Invicta, students must upload their GCSE results to Applicaa and bring a copy of their results with them. This can be in whichever format has been provided by their school, such as a physical letter or email.

Students will also need to bring a passport or birth certificate as proof of identity and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

🌟 Invicta achieves record A Level results again!🌟

Invicta is thrilled that our students have achieved the best set of A Level results in the school's history, surpassing last year’s excellent results. Our students have shown incredible dedication and hard work to achieve this exceptional set of results in which 80% of all grades are A*, A and B grades. Almost half of all grades are A*/A, with nearly a quarter of our students achieving three A*/A grades.

This year, we also have a record-breaking 11 students who achieved at least three A* grades, two of whom achieved a full set of four As. The following students achieved at least three A grades: Emily, Izzy, Maeve, Isabella, Tegan, Sadie, Areej, Alice, Grace. Laura and Grey both achieved an incredible full set of four A* grades.

Van Beales, Headteacher, commented on this tremendous success: “I am exceptionally proud of this year’s A Level results. Our students have demonstrated remarkable resilience, ambition, and academic excellence, achieving outcomes that reflect both their hard work and the unwavering support and commitment of our staff. The invaluable support of our wonderful parents has been crucial in our students’ success. These results open exciting pathways for our young people, and we celebrate every one of them for what they have achieved.”

Our students rose to the challenge and fully applied themselves to their studies, alongside taking up leadership positions in the school, leading extra and super-curricular opportunities and contributing to raising over £30,000 for charity in the last academic year alone. Students have once again demonstrated incredible success across the Arts, Languages, Humanities, and STEM subjects.

We are delighted to share that Invicta has recently achieved the Gold School Games Mark.

The School Games Mark is a national accreditation scheme that recognises schools for their commitment to developing competitive sport and promoting healthy, active lifestyles. It celebrates schools that provide inclusive opportunities for all young people, alongside pathways for those who wish to compete and excel.

Achieving the Gold Award recognises the strength of our extra-curricular sporting programme, our commitment to competitive sport, student leadership, local partnerships and the importance we place on physical activity and wellbeing within school life.

This award is much more than a certificate. It is external recognition of the culture we are continuing to build, where students have opportunities to be active, develop confidence, experience success and represent their school.

Thank you to the Invicta community for continuing to support PE, school sport and physical activity, helping to provide such valuable opportunities for our students.

GCSE and A Level Art, Textiles and Photography Exhibition 2026

At the end of the last academic year, we were delighted to celebrate the creativity and hard work of our GCSE and A Level Art, Textiles and Photography students in a vibrant exhibition.

The exhibition showcased an incredibly diverse range of work, from floral installations and knitted garments to double exposure and digitally manipulated photography. It was wonderful to see the individuality of our students’ creative voices reflected so clearly through their work.

On behalf of the Art, Textiles and Photography Department, we would like to say a huge congratulations to all students involved. Your enthusiasm, determination and development of ideas made the exhibition possible, and you should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved.

Last term, a group of GCSE Language students travelled to Seville with the MFL Department for a four-day trip exploring Spanish culture, language and history.

During the visit, students explored key landmarks, took part in Spanish lessons, experienced local traditions and had the opportunity to practise their language skills in Seville.

Violet in 10N wrote the following about the trip:

“Last week I went to Seville with a small group of other Y9 & Y10 students for a 4-day trip. This visit was very insightful as not only did it give us a taste of proud Spanish culture, but it also allowed us to explore the history of the city through various landmarks.

On the first day following our landing into Seville and finding our accommodation, we took time to explore the area – coming across Las Setas. The following day was we had a busier schedule – we visited the Centro de Lenguas e Intercambio Cultural, where we were taught lessons fully in Spanish. This was followed by a visit to the Torre Sevilla Commercial Centre for lunch, before returning to the city and exploring and spending time in the Museo de las Ilusiones. We finished with an evening walk around a Parque de los Perdigones.

Saturday was a day filled with historic landmarks – beginning with La Catedral and Giralda – which boasted Seville’s deep Catholic heritage. This was followed by a tour of the Real Alcázar, a huge area of both Moorish/Islamic architecture blended with some Christian motifs and tiled extensions – similar to the Alhambra in Granada. This was probably my favourite day of the trip as we got to admire the physical history behind Seville and its development over time. We finished the day off with a flamenco show dinner, a tradition being revived from the 18th century.

On our last day we enjoyed touring the city again in the morning before arriving at the Plaza de España – which was a 20th century building project that celebrated the towns of Andalusia through tiled symbols and mosaics. It also featured a small moat which allowed tourists to rent canoes and travel around the whole plaza on the water. After this we returned to the airport and made our way back to Gatwick.

The trip was amazing as it gave me a small insight into the life in Spanish towns but also challenged my understanding of Spanish through interacting locals in their native language, introducing myself to new food and enjoy time I spent with my friends whilst still being able to dive into a completely unfamiliar and exciting culture.”

At the end of this academic year, we said a very fond farewell to four much-loved colleagues who have retired from Invicta Grammar School.

Congratulations to Ms Dixon, Teacher of Geography, Miss Fryer, our Management Information Officer, Mrs Liddicoat, our Attendance Officer, and Mrs Alizadeh, one of our Lead Science Technicians. Together, they have given more than 110 years of dedicated service to Invicta!

Last term, staff gathered to celebrate their time with us, reflect on their incredible contributions and wish them the very best for their retirement. It was an especially meaningful send-off for Mrs Liddicoat, who has been part of the Invicta community in so many different capacities over the years, as a former student, parent, and member of staff.

Thank you all, for everything you have given to our school community. We wish you all a very happy retirement!
