Last SDW post I promise. Having had time to recover and reflect a little I feel proud, relieved and grateful. But also very blessed to be part of King's Reach and have such supportive friends and family. Every time I struggled you pulled me through.
I was close to quitting at 4am on day 5 as I sat there with plasters, tape & scissors trying to prepare my feet for another day of walking. I was shocked at their condition. Then I caught sight of my reflection in the window as it was still dark. The King's Reach Woodlands logo on my T-shirt reminded of my reason for doing the walk in the first place.
I found the resolve to apply some more plasters, get my boots on and get up that first hill and the dozens that followed. I couldn’t of done this with out you all, thank you 🌳❤️

Alan’ Photos from day 1:
Firstly I need to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been in touch offering support today. I’ve been overwhelmed thank you 🤩 Day One Complete - 23 miles 2,220ft climbed. I’ve loved the scenery today such a beautiful part of the country. Not so keen on the heat, the blisters or discovering the tents gone mouldy but hey I go again tomorrow 💪🚶🌳❤️
