Sadly, we often hear stories of children who received horrific burns from hot drinks whilst out and about. If you’re visiting somewhere that serves hot drinks please remember:
☕A hot drink takes 15 minutes to cool down to a temperature that will not scald a young child
☕Be mindful of where you place hot drinks. Children can often reach further than we think.
☕Don’t let children run around anywhere that’s serving hot drinks
☕Avoid passing hot drinks over children or drinking your hot drink when your child is on your lap.

“The charges being described as ‘hidden’ are not hidden at all.”
Parents see them on invoices, contracts and fee schedules every single day.
The real issue is not providers being dishonest.
The real issue is a funding system that many settings say does not cover the actual cost of delivering high-quality childcare.
As Ian Morgan, Chair of Early Years Voice, explains:
“The government promised parents ‘free’ childcare while setting funding rates that many providers say do not cover the actual cost of delivering it.”
Early Years providers are being expected to bridge a growing financial gap while continuing to deliver quality care, support families, and keep settings sustainable.
📢 Early Years Voice will continue pushing for honest conversations, realistic funding, and a system that reflects the true cost of early education.
