The Nest - Childminder

An exciting delivery today ready for this year's gardening projects ☺️ we're hoping to have finished landscaping in time for the warmer months, as last year we couldn't make the most of the weather with the extension build going on! Can't wait to spend lots of time in our new space with the big doors wide open!

We got some new fish at the weekend! My son got a fish tank for Christmas and it's taken ages for the water to be ready for fish, so we were very excited to finally have some life in the tank!

Our pets are a huge part of our setting and the children love interacting with the fish, chickens and cats - Basil even had his own house built from magnetic tiles today! ❤️

Last week we used up some leftover fruit and veg and did some printing .... Which very quickly turned into finger/hand painting! Messy fun! 🫑🥕🍋🎨🖌️

Today we were doing lots of Christmas crafts including this snowglobe background, which is going to be turned into a special calendar to take home for Christmas 🎄🥰

We had great time making Christmas wreaths from cuttings that we foraged in the woods!

We had a go at making snow today using bicarbonate of soda and hair conditioner! The children absolutely loved playing with it and making tiny snowmen ⛄⛄⛄

Yesterday we started our Christmas crafting - we tried some marbling using different christmassy colours and talking about the amazing patterns we made, and how the ink floated on the water. Then we did some freestyle painting and sticking. These will be turned into festive creations for the children to take home 🥰🎄🎁

Today we have been making spooky Halloween cards!
