In celebration of 'earth day' soon Snowy owls explored a farm tuff tray with a variety of natural resources such as sand, straw, leaves, stones, pine cones, bark, wood slices, cocoa for mud and weetabix hay bales... as well as some grass patches, play barn and farm animals.

The children especially liked the pig mud puddle, we named the animals together and sang 'old mcdonald had a farm' learning the animal noises as we played 🐖 🐄 🐑 🐎 🫏

Spring has officially sprung in Snowy owls 🌼 🌸 🌻 🌹 🏵

The children enjoyed exploring the spring tuff tray today, we loved the pretty colours and enjoyed pulling the flowers apart and smelling them too. We used the thick stems to stir the glittery water creating our own perfumes and potions.

Fingers crossed for some warmer spring weather soon 🌞 ☁️

The Snowy owls have been busy exploring our St Patrick's day sensory tuff tray today. We used our touch and sight to feel the different textures such as shredded paper, fluff, rice, cotton wool etc..

We created our own little bags of treasure using our fine motor skills and pincer grip and this week we will be bell pepper 🫑 printing to create our own little clover pictures 🍀

Happy St Patrick's day 🌈 🍀 💰

Today in our Snowy Owls Room the children have enjoyed using chopsticks to mark make in the sand and glitter in celebration of Chinese New Year along with some Chinese numbers. The children had fun during this activity and have also had the chance to try some prawn crackers. We have also created some artwork where they have been able to interpret some Chinese themed art.

Snowy Owls had fun in the garden today with our valentines cornflour smash activity. I set hearts, sequins and glitter in cornflour over night so it hardened. The babies enjoyed using their gross motor skills to smash the cornflour up by using toy hammers, screwdrivers and wooden utensils. We worked as a team to break it apart and one by one the children passed us chunks of cornflour to crumble and give the illusion that it is snowing.

We hope you all have a wonderful valentines day celebrating it with loved ones ❤️

Today Snowy Owls enjoyed our very own Candy Cane Lane tuff tray. The children enjoyed filling their cups up with colourful rice using their hands and spoons to do so. We also encouraged sharing and turn taking as well as team work filling the cups up together. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year 🎄 🍻 🎁

Today in our Snowy Owls room the children have enjoyed taking part in a Diwali messy activity. We used shaving foam, paint and sequins to make a firework picture on our tuff tray. The children used paint rollers and colourful lolly sticks to spread and scoop the shaving foam and paint around the tray. The children got very messy and enjoyed rubbing the foam into their hands 🎆😀.

Today Snowy owls enjoyed exploring the witches brew Halloween activity 🧙‍♀️

The children used the ladles and utensils to scoop the foam into bowls, mixing it together with shaving foam and glitter. As well as finding the skeletons, spiders and bats hidden amongst the foam 🕷 🕸 🎃 🧙‍♀️ 👻

Today in Snowy Owls we have had some messy fun with some shaving foam. With Halloween approaching we made a cobweb out of shaving foam and stuck some Creepy Crawlies and skeletons inside. The children enjoyed smearing the shaving foam around the tray using their hands and paint brushes/rollers and covering themselves in the foam 🤣🎃🕷🕸
