Howzat!? Congratulations to Hamish who scored an impressive 109 runs against WGBS in the Kent Cup. Scoring a ton in school cricket is not that common and Hamish now joins a small, but elite list of young OPGS cricketers to achieve this feat.

Well done to Ahmed and Joseph who have won the Kent Orienteering League on behalf of OPGS. They claimed victory after 10 individual events. Well done boys!

We are delighted to be hosting two Term 6 Open Mornings for students currently in Year 5. This offers students and families an early opportunity to visit the school and see a normal school day.

Sometimes it doesn’t go your way… commiserations to the Year 7 team, who were unsuccessful in their cup final this evening. Congratulations to Cornwallis - worthy winners. We are still so incredibly proud of them and know that these boys will take a lot from this. We know they’ll work hard and they’ll come back even better next year. Heads held high tomorrow boys!

A massive thank you to the school’s wonderful Parents Association, who have supported the school with the purchase of a new cricket kit for the senior squad. Not the traditional whites usually associated with cricket, the kit captures the OPGS blue perfectly and is a hit with the players. Its first outing saw the team bring home a convincing win over C&C GS. Thank you again to the OPGS PA.

Well done to the under 13 cricket squad who are celebrating their back to back victories in the West Kent 100. Victories against MGS and Gravesend Grammar showing very positive signs for the season ahead. Exceptional batting performances today from Ted and Hamish helped bring home an impressive victory.

An outstanding opportunity yesterday for our students. We were fortunate to have a fully qualified football referee, who currently refs in the Women’s Super League, come in and offer some referee training to our students. As part of Volunteering Day in our school, several students will be reffing a football tournament. They are now fully prepared, trained and ready to ref accurately and professionally. Thank you to Kirsty for coming in.

Congratulations to the U13 football team who were victorious this weekend in the Kent Messenger Shield Final. This is an outstanding achievement and we are so proud of this cohort. Well done Year 8! Thanks to the KSFA for another exceptionally well organised tournament. These boys have another final this evening so give them a like for good luck!
