📚🌟 World Book Day Fun! 🌟📚
Today we celebrated World Book Day with a wonderful Gruffalo-themed tuff tray! Inspired by the story The Gruffalo, we created our very own “Deep Dark Wood” using autumn leaves, sticks, pinecones and some familiar characters from the story.
The children had lots of fun exploring the tray, using magnifying glasses to search for creatures and going on their own Gruffalo hunt through the deep dark wood! 🦊🌳🍂 We talked about the story, recognised characters and used our imaginations to retell parts of the book.
It was also lovely to see the children dressed up as their favourite characters for World Book Day, which made the day even more exciting! From princesses to superheroes, everyone looked fantastic. ✨

Over the past few weeks, our little learners have been busy exploring, creating, and developing new skills through a range of engaging activities. From interactive story times that build listening skills, language development, and imagination, to creative craft sessions that strengthen fine motor skills and support early writing, every experience has been full of meaningful learning. Sensory play has encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and teamwork as the children explored different textures and materials together. Construction and block play have supported early maths concepts such as counting, sorting, and spatial awareness, while also promoting cooperation and creativity. It is wonderful to see how much growth happens through play, as the children build confidence, independence, and strong foundations for their future learning. ✨

We had a wonderful Christmas party in the nursery, with all parents joining us to celebrate this special time of year. It was lovely to see everyone come together and enjoy the children’s performance, and all the children did so well—we are incredibly proud of them. A big thank you to all parents for the lovely presents, which were truly appreciated. We would like to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the Fledgelings team. 🎄✨

🎅 “Santa hoo hoo!” 🎄✨
The Christmas spirit has arrived in our nursery, bringing joy and wonderful learning opportunities!
This week, the children explored a festive small-world winter scene, building their imagination, storytelling skills, and fine motor development as they moved figures, created pathways, and discussed what they could see. ❄️✨
Gathering around our beautifully decorated Christmas tree, the children also practised counting, colour recognition, and turn-taking — all through play! 🌈🎄
Our snowman-making activity was a brilliant way to support creativity, early maths (shapes and sizes), and fine motor skills as the children carefully chose eyes, hats, arms, and noses for their snowmen. ☃️✂️
It’s been a magical blend of fun and learning, and we’re so proud of how engaged and excited the children have been. ❤️

🎃🕷️ Spooky Fun at Our Nursery Halloween Party! 🕷️🎃
What an amazing day we had celebrating Halloween! Our little ones had so much fun taking part in all the spooky learning activities — from finding spiders hidden inside pumpkins to painting their own colourful pumpkins and enjoying some delicious Halloween cupcakes! 🧁✨
The children loved every moment — exploring, creating, and giggling their way through the day. 👻🖌️🍂
We’re so proud of how everyone joined in with such excitement and imagination. What a wonderful way to celebrate Halloween together! 🎉🧡

🌿🐾 We are delighted to see how well the children have settled back into nursery after the summer break. They have quickly adapted to the routines and are already showing great enthusiasm in their play and learning.
This term, our focus is on animals and nature. The children have been exploring the natural world with curiosity and wonder — learning about different creatures, their habitats, and the beauty of the environment around us. 🍃🐝🌸
It is a joy to watch their confidence grow as they discover, explore, and share their ideas with friends. We look forward to many more exciting adventures together this term! ✨

Graduation Day & Superhero Fun at Fledgelings Nursery! 🎓🕷️👸🎉

What an amazing day we had celebrating our wonderful children! From an exciting visit by Spider-Man and Princess Belle to our heartwarming Graduation Day, it was truly a day to remember.

The children had so much fun, and we’re so proud of everything they’ve achieved. A big thank you to all the parents for your continued support — we hope you enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did!

To our nursery leavers: congratulations on your graduation! 🎓 We wish you all the very best as you move on to big school. We will miss you dearly, but we know you’ll do amazing things.

Today in Fledgelings Nursery, we had an exciting visit from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service! The children were thrilled to see the firefighters and eagerly took part in the experience. They had the opportunity to splash water using the fire hose, which brought lots of laughter and joy. The highlight of the visit was exploring the inside of the fire engine, where the children got a close look at the equipment and asked lots of curious questions. It was a fun and educational day, filled with excitement and unforgettable moments.

🛒🍓 Tesco Adventure! 🍌🍦

This week, our children have been busy creating their very own shop during playtime — complete with tills, baskets, and lots of imagination!

Yesterday, we took our little ones on a real-life shopping trip to Tesco! The children had the exciting opportunity to buy fruit for our snack and ice lollies as a special treat. They were amazing at picking their items, waiting their turn at the checkout, and helping carry the bags back.

It was a fun-filled day of learning, teamwork, and a little cool-down with our yummy lollies!

As we wrap up this term, we’re proud of all the fun and learning our little ones have experienced at nursery!

We celebrated special days like Earth Day, St. George’s Day, and VE Day with themed crafts, stories, and activities that sparked curiosity and joy. We also focused on building our early math and writing skills through playful, hands-on learning.

Our fine and gross motor skills got a great workout too—with lots of fun games, outdoor play, and creative activities designed to help us grow strong and confident.

We now break up for the half-term and look forward to welcoming everyone back on the 2nd of June. Have a lovely break!

Happy Easter from all of us! 🐰🌸🐣

What a fantastic week we’ve had celebrating Easter with our little ones! From exploring our egg-finding tuff tray to strengthening those fine motor skills with tweezers to collect eggs, every activity was filled with fun and learning.

We got creative with painting Easter eggs, enjoyed the excitement of an Easter egg hunt, and had a blast shaping and molding with Easter-themed playdough! It’s been a joy to see the children engaged, laughing, and making wonderful memories.

Wishing all our children and their families a Happy Easter filled with love, joy, and of course—plenty of chocolate eggs! We will be back the 22nd of April! 🐰💛🥚🌼
