🌿✨ A little peek into our first two weeks of Forest School! ✨🌿

What a wonderful start we’ve had! We’ve been busy getting to know our surroundings, building confidence and, most importantly, having lots of fun outdoors. 🍂🐞🌳

Over the first couple of weeks, the children have been:
🌿 Exploring and getting to know our Forest School space
🔥 Learning about fire safety and spending time around the fire circle
🐛 Finding newts, snail eggs and tiny creature beneath logs
🌳 Climbing, balancing, building and developing those all-important physical skills
🎨 Getting creative with nature and the wonderful things we find outdoors
🤝 Working together, making new friends and building confidence
💚Building our own meditation area for some relaxation

Forest School is about so much more than being outside — it’s a chance for children to develop independence, resilience, problem-solving skills and confidence, all while having the freedom to explore and learn at their own pace.

And this is just the beginning! 🌿 There’s still lots more to come over the rest of the term, and we can’t wait to see where our adventures take us. 🦋

We still have a couple of spaces available for Terms 1 & 2, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is a great time to get in touch. 🌳💚

🍎 Snack time at Pre-School! 🥕🍓

Snack time is about so much more than food! It gives children the opportunity to refuel, try new foods, develop independence and enjoy a social experience with their friends. ❤️

♻️🏗️ Recycling Week 14th–20th September 🏗️♻️

This week we’re getting creative at Pre-School with our Builders’ Yard and Junk Modelling! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

The children are exploring how we can reuse and recycle everyday materials, turning “junk” into wonderful creations and using our builders’ yard to develop their imagination, teamwork and problem-solving skills. 🌍💚

We’re learning that one person’s rubbish can be another person’s building material! 📦🔨

A huge thank you to Everyday Play for our beautiful new wooden gazebo roof! ✨

Our old gazebo had definitely seen better days. We’re so pleased with the new roof and what a difference it has made to our Pre-School garden! 💚

Thank you so much to the team for their hard work, professionalism and for doing such a fantastic job. We absolutely love it! ❤️

As our Forest School Lead, Mrs Billing goes above and beyond every term to make sure our children are cared for, supported and have the best experiences out in nature.

Last term (Term 6) , she went the extra mile for our School leavers by organising a special School Leavers Stay & Play with the families , creating some lovely memories for them before they moved on to their next adventure. She also wrote each child a personal Forest School report celebrating all they had learnt and achieved 🥰

Well done, Mrs Billing — a very well-deserved employee of Term 6 award! We are all so lucky to have you! ❤️🍃🌳

We would like to share a positive update with our families. From 1st September, Mrs Terry and Miss Goble will be swapping roles as part of a carefully planned leadership transition. Both will continue to work closely together, and the familiar care, routines and support our children and families know will remain unchanged. We are pleased to support this next step for both members of our team.

Today we say goodbye to our wonderful Mrs Hartridge 😢

To us, she has always been our very own Miss Honey – kind, caring, patient and endlessly supportive. Her calm nature, incredible organisation and genuine love for every child have made such a difference to so many families over the years.

Mrs Hartridge, thank you for everything you have done for our Pre-School. You will be greatly missed by the children, families and staff, but we know you'll continue to inspire everyone you meet in your next adventure.

We wish you all the happiness and success in the future. Once part of our Pre-School family, always part of our Pre-School family. 💛

Monday will be our last Forest School session for Term 6 and our first full year of Forest School completed ! 🌳 🍃

This term been filled with adventure and discovery. We’ve learned how to light and safely manage fires, used tools with growing skill and confidence, and experimented with dyeing fabrics using natural materials.

Over the year the children have developed an incredible understanding of the natural world. They’ve followed the changing moon phases, watched the remarkable metamorphosis of tadpoles into frogs and ladybirds as they emerged from their pupae, and have become wonderful guardians of our special little piece of woodland. They show great respect for nature, each other and the environment around them, thank you children.

Most of all, it has been a joy to watch every child grow in confidence, resilience, independence and curiosity. They have challenged themselves, supported one another and embraced every muddy, magical moment 🥰

A huge thank you to all of our families for your enthusiasm, encouragement and support throughout the year. It has helped make Forest School such a special place.

We can’t wait to see what adventures next year will bring! 🌿🍁🔥

A huge shoutout to our amazing Forest School ladies Mrs Billing and Mrs Hone 💚🌿

A massive thank you for the incredible handmade Sports Day trophies you created. 🏆 The time, creativity, and care that went into making each one is truly appreciated, and they made our Sports Day even more special.

To make them even more meaningful, each child added their own finishing touches to their trophy, making every single one unique and something they can treasure with pride.
