Today is World Mental Health Day, and this year’s theme is ‘Mental Health at Work’.
15% of UK workers are estimated to have an existing mental health condition – that’s almost a million people! Can you even start to imagine the impact of this – and how different things could be with better understanding and support for each other.
Here’s some brilliant information and resources to look at.

It’s a tough world to be living in for so many – let’s work together with kindness and understanding – and make it a happier one for all of us.

For concerned parents/carers of children and young people, here's an incredibly helpful and supportive place to go.
This can be a tough time of the year for a family, with the return to school after the long, summer break potentially causing anxiety.

Another extremely tough year for those wonderful people who work in schools.
Thank you to all the school leaders who work so very hard to lead diverse communities, hundreds/thousands of stakeholders in immensely challenging and complex circumstances - and still strive for the highest standards for young people
Thank you to all the teachers who are on their knees right now after giving their all to deliver the best lessons they can whilst caring deeply and holistically about children's lives
Thank you to every member of support staff for your amazing work in different roles to make sure pupils, teachers, leaders and families have what they need to do their best work
Thank you to school governors who generously give so much time, energy and expertise
Thank you to everyone who (like me) passionately provide services to schools, understand what you go through and wholeheartedly support you in your work
Thank you to all the parents/carers/families who appreciate and partner with schools for the good of children's learning and wellbeing
The sun is shining on all of us today!
Please make the most of the summer break - have fun, have a big rest, recharge fully, and give yourselves a huge pat on the back for the difference you have made to the lives of our children and young people.
Thank you all!

In the spirit of , and getting out into nature, this morning I was feeling quite bogged down with lots of work still to do this week. It's been super-helpful to set quite a big long-term goal, and this motivated me to put my running shoes and get out for a (very slow) run. By the time I got back, although physically tired, I was mentally energised and feeling much less daunted by workload. Give it a go - set a goal, get out, get moving!
Happy weekend everyone!

In today's post to highlight Mental Health Awareness Week (Movement: moving more for your mental health'), I just have to share the amazing yoga teacher and practice I discovered 4 years ago (in 'those' times).
One of the biggest regrets I have in life is not moving more in this way from a much younger age. Yoga impacts in a hugely positive way on my mind and body - I try to do a little bit every day with the wonderful Adriene Mishler at Find What Feels Good.
Very accessible for everyone - she's the kindest, most gentle teacher and loving human being. Lots of breath work and mindful practice. Just gorgeous. Check her out if this is your kind of thing.

A little post every day this week to highlight Mental Health Awareness Week - the theme is, 'Movement: moving more for your mental health'.
A different way of moving today...I moved in my car to attend a fab conference organised for by Coaching York. It would have been easy to have not travelled for an hour to get there, to be too busy to give myself this day, or to worry about going to an event where I didn't know anyone. But by making the effort and by being a bit brave, I met some wonderful people, learned loads and came away refreshed, energised and full of gratitude for the people who worked hard to put the event on.
I moved some more afterwards, finding a famous street in York to explore.
