If you need help on more A level topics, check out www.biologycarol.co.uk. Teaching videos that cover the whole of the AQA and OCR A syllabuses are there. Each video has worked exam questions at the end. AND there’s a freebie, so grab that at least👏🎉

This weeks question gives you a little summary of the difference between these two lipid types. You’ll remember that triglycerides make up the fats and oils that we eat (butter, olive oil etc) but that therefore also make up the fat in our body 😬. Phospholipids on the other hand are those molecules that make up the bulk of every membrane (on the outside and inside of cells). Remember that unlike proteins and polysaccharides, lipid are NOT polymers.
Any questions: put them in a comment! As well as any topic requests for future 6markers - I’ll go hunting😂

Never get the marks you deserve? Let’s change that this year by learning FROM mark schemes 😊
Each week I’ll highlight a topic that’s described in a 6 marker question. These questions are really useful for helping you know the
- level of detail &
- terminology required
And I give a bit of biologycarol advice at the end😊
Even if you don’t quite know the answer to a related question, at least you can try and write an answer to A level standard!!
Let’s make this year the year of more marks 👏✅⭐️
