🍂 Exploring Autumn at Preschool! 🍁

🦔 The children had great fun creating their own hedgehogs using playdough, dry pasta and sticks. They explored different textures and materials while developing their fine motor skills and creativity.

🌳 They also created beautiful autumn trees using Lego bricks dipped in paint. The children printed colourful leaves onto the branches, experimenting with patterns, colours and shapes.

🐞 Using natural resources, the children enjoyed getting creative and making their own insects and bugs. It was wonderful to see their imaginations come to life as they explored and transformed materials from nature.

This week, the children have been enjoying the much-loved story ‘Owl Babies’. 🦉🌙

In maths, the children explored shapes, matching different shapes to the correct owl and discussing simple features of each shape.

In art, the children created beautiful owl pictures using cotton wool, exploring texture while developing their creativity. They also created owl paintings using small sponges held in pegs.

The children enjoyed retelling the story of ‘Owl Babies’ in our small world tray. Using character props and woodland materials, they recreated parts of the story while developing their imagination.

🥕🍓 Healthy Eating & Exercise! 🍉🥦

In art, the children used chopped fruit and vegetables to make prints in paint and created their own colourful watermelon slices.🍉

In maths, the children practised counting by using playdough to make the correct number of seeds for each strawberry and also explored shapes while making pizzas using a variety of different shaped toppings.🍕

The children also enjoyed getting their hands messy in our vegetable digging patch, using real vegetables. 🥕

During music and movement, the children took part in an energetic exercise class! The children moved, stretched and exercised while thinking about how their bodies felt afterwards — noticing changes such as being hot and tired.

🚒👩‍⚕️ People Who Help Us! 👨‍⚕️🚑

The children have been developing their imagination and communication skills as they took on the roles of doctors and nurses in our home corner, caring for their patients and exploring what it means to help others. 🩺
They enjoyed creating flames with paint and tissue paper, making their own fire engine collages, and using junk modelling to design and build emergency vehicles. 🚑

Another Week of Beach and Holiday-Themed Activities! ☀️🏖️

In Maths, the children created colourful ice cream collages using a variety of shapes for the cone, scoops, and flake. They also practised their number formation by writing numbers in flour with paintbrushes, helping to develop both their early maths skills and fine motor control.

At the art table, the children designed their own beach balls by drawing sections onto paper plates and carefully painting each one in different colours.

The children had lots of fun building sandcastles using moon sand. They used the tools provided to scoop the sand into buckets before carefully turning them over to reveal their finished sandcastles, developing their hand-eye coordination and problem-solving skills.
