Mark making is more then just a scribble. It is a child’s first step on their journey towards writing and is important for the development of their handwriting, coordination and creativity.

We ❤️ Autumn 🍃🍂🍁🎃

We have started the term at nursery with one of our favourite stories, Dear Zoo. The children have enjoyed re-telling the story, making masks, exploring the small world safari, taking care of the sick zoo animals, and getting creative (and messy!) with some animal based craft activities. What a fantastic start to the new term.

At WWNS we love loose parts but what exactly are loose parts?
Loose parts are a variety of materials and textures that can be moved, combined, stacked, lined up, taken apart and put back together. They are open ended and can be turned into anything the child’s imagination allows, the opportunities are endless. Loose parts encourage children to problem solve, create and wonder, bringing a sense of adventure to their play.

We’ve been keeping cool in this recent hot weather with lots of water play activities and fun ☀️💦

Once a fortnight the children have the opportunity to join in with our cookery club. We love to make a variety of things including porridge, cupcakes, pizza, fruit kebabs and more. Cooking teaches the children a wide range of skills whilst having lots of fun!

A week ago today we hosted our platinum jubilee celebration. The children loved celebrating with their grown ups and nursery friends. 🇬🇧👑🎈

Today we were delighted to host our first nursery community event in over 18 months. It was lovely to see the children having fun with their grown ups and enjoying some cake, all whilst raising money for a great cause. 🧁🍰
