Warm weather reminder ☀️
As the weather is heating up this week, please ensure your child brings a named water bottle with them everyday this week. Water will be available on their tables at all times.
There may be times this week where we decide to keep the children inside to make the most of the air conditioning in the classrooms. In case they do go outside, please ensure your child has a named hat and has had suncream applied in the morning. 🧢
Sports day - unfortunately sports day is going to have to look a little different to planned. We will make a decision tomorrow whether we go ahead with a very short program or whether we rearrange the whole day. We will send an email tomorrow to confirm. 🏃♂️

Today, the whole school thoroughly enjoyed Year 6’s Takeover Day! 🌟
The children took charge of our assembly before stepping into the role of teachers, leading a fantastic range of engaging activities across the school. From Maths and Art to PE and Science, every class had the opportunity to learn something new while being inspired by our wonderful Year 6 pupils.
A huge thank you to Year 6 for all of your hard work and for making the day such a memorable experience for everyone! 👏✨

Year 1 and 2 were delighted to welcome visitors from our local Jewish community last week. They taught us about the special family traditions of Shabbat and helped us learn about its importance in Jewish life. ✡️
The children enjoyed hearing about how families come together to celebrate, and were even able to taste some traditional challah bread and juice. Thank you to our visitors for sharing their knowledge and traditions with us!

Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 have loved observing the incredible life cycle of butterflies in their classrooms over the past few weeks. From tiny caterpillars to chrysalises, and finally beautiful butterflies, the children were fascinated by each stage of their transformation and enjoyed learning all about the butterfly life cycle.
Last week, the children were excited to release the butterflies into the wild, watching them take flight and begin their next adventure. 🦋

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed their visit to the mosque to support their RE learning. They listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions and learned more about how Muslims worship and celebrate their faith. It was a valuable, memorable experience that helped bring classroom learning to life.

Despite the rain, Foundation had a wonderful day exploring Wisley Gardens! 🌧️🌿
We searched for different coloured flowers in the beautiful rock garden, discovered fascinating jungle and desert plants in the glasshouse, planted our own chard seeds, and explored the World Food Garden to learn more about where our food comes from.
The weather certainly didn't dampen our spirits, and we had a fantastic day filled with learning, discovery, and outdoor adventure! 🌼🌱🍅
Year 1 and 2 have loved learning to play ‘Hot Cross Buns’ on the recorder this term! 🎶 Over the past few weeks, the children have been working hard to develop their note reading, rhythm and performance skills.
Last week, the children proudly performed their compositions and impressed us all with their confidence and musical talent. Well done, Year 1 and 2! 🌟

Foundation thoroughly enjoyed their celebration picnic today to round off our topic ‘Glorious Gardens’ 🌸🌿
After learning all about the plants that provide us with food, the children made their own shortbread biscuits and delicious fruit salads to enjoy with their families. 🍓🍎🍪
Thank you so much to everyone who came along to celebrate with us, it was lovely to share such a special afternoon together! ☀️

As part of our topic ‘Glorious Gardens’, we have been reading the wonderful story The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle 🌼
We then created our own versions of Eric’s beautiful flower using his collage technique! First, we painted textured backgrounds before carefully cutting out the shapes we needed to build our flowers. We loved getting creative and exploring different colours, patterns and textures 🎨✂️🌸
