Why Pigs Love a Wallow!

There's nothing quite like seeing a happy pig enjoying a good wallow!

Many people think pigs wallow in mud because they're dirty, but the truth is quite the opposite.

Pigs don't sweat like humans do, so a mud wallow helps them stay cool on warm days. The mud also acts as a natural sunblock, protecting their skin from the sun and helping to keep pesky insects away.

Watching our pigs relax in their wallow is a lovely reminder that sometimes the simplest things bring the greatest comfort.

This morning our animals were busy enjoying the sunshine, fresh grass, and plenty of attention.

One of the things we love most about farm life is how much the animals teach us every day – patience, kindness, confidence, and the importance of slowing down and enjoying the moment.

We're inviting businesses to spend a Friday morning or afternoon at Heroes Farm, helping with the day-to-day tasks that keep our animals happy, healthy, and cared for.
