World Theatre Day 2026
Drama and theatre are at the heart of our pupilsā confidence and resilience in their learning, and at SPC we are incredibly proud of all students who engage so openly, creatively and enthusiastically every single day. It is a joy to watch our young people grow in skill and self-belief, and we couldnāt ask for a better place to nurture that journey.
This year, we celebrate World Theatre Day in our newly refurbished space. The Lecture Theatre has been transformed into a fully equipped drama studio, complete with professional lighting, a lighting board to broaden pupilsā technical skills, a new PA system, stage draping and refurbished seating. Even our desks have been brought back to life thanks to the hard work of Mr McDaid.
This space raises pupilsā professional expectations when working in theatre and provides them with the opportunity to explore drama within an industry standard setting. We are incredibly grateful to all the companies who supported this transformation - especially the Wolfson Foundation, whose generous grant has made such a meaningful impact on our pupilsā learning and creative experiences.
From KS3 through to A Level Drama, from late-night rehearsals, learning lines, exploring theory and writing coursework, to trips to London and experiencing live theatre, drama is where our pupils discover who they are, what they can achieve and the power of their own voice.
