Are you concerned that they are not reaching their full potential or that they have learning difficulties which are holding them back? One in ten children are dyslexic and many more struggle with reading and writing. Early intervention and a structured multi-sensory teaching programme can make all the difference. As a qualified teacher and member of the British Dyslexia Association and Dyslexia Wales, I have taught countless children to read and will help your child to become a confident and competent reader as well as helping them find ways to improve their writing and spelling. I also teach children with dyscalculia - often known as "dyslexia with numbers". Many children struggle to really understand number and become stressed and fearful of maths lessons. They also fall increasingly behind. Through a series of hands on activities and games, I can help these children to gain a firm understanding of how numbers work as well as rebuilding their confidence. Dyslexia screening for children from the age of four and for adults is also available. This can be invaluable in helping you to get support for you or your child in education and/or the workplace. So we have reached the end of term. It has been such a privilege to get to work with such fabulous and talented children and I hope they all have a wonderful Easter break.
Each term we keep a tally of the number of times we each win a game. And every term the children beat me😄 This the score in Machynlleth this term.
Playing games to reinforce what we've been learning is a key part of our lessons. If you think your child would enjoy playing games to improve their literacy then do get in touch today.

Is your child struggling with reading and spelling? Do they find it hard to get their ideas down on paper? Maybe they're struggling with numeracy, having trouble recalling times tables or grasping key concepts. I can help. Things are very busy right now but, starting after Easter, I do have two lesson slots available weekly on Wednesday mornings in Aberystwyth and a weekly lesson space available after school on Tuesday or Thursday in Machynlleth.
