Great day today processing squirrels from a place of respect and connection. We learnt about the lifeways of the squirrel, their intelligence and adaptability, the tracks and signs they leave in the landscape, and also the damage they can cause when taken outside their native habitat.
We ate squirrel tikka massala, and jerk squirrel on the fire - yum! 😋
Taking the lives of these squirrels will help the forest to flourish. They were harvested from a young woodland where they were causing untold damage to the trees, and threatening a nearby population of native red squirrels. The net result of their death is more life.
We had a couple of father-son duos today which was a lovely bonus. These young lads were so enthusiastic, excited, knowledgeable and respectful the day was a joy.
They're coming back for the rabbit course in April - why don't you come along too? Link in bio.

I’m so excited to share this! For much of the gorgeous sunny Spring I was sat at a computer… the tragedy of this was made up for by how inspiring the project is! I was writing stories of best practice of ‘Kincentric Leadership’ for a beautiful handbook: *Cocreating with a Living Intelligent Earth*. The handbook and suite of tools will help you adopt kinship with all life as the central organising principle of your life and leadership.
🦌 Kincentric Leadership is an experimental field that places collaboration with the more than human world at the heart of all interventions, strategy, culture and ways of working.
🦌 I spoke to and learnt about some incredibly inspiring people, including those who are decoding the language of whales with AI, collaborating with vultures to prevent poaching, granting rights to rivers and waterways, farming in radically compassionate ways, creating radical spaces for q***r kinship, speaking up for the plants and the fungi, restoring rivers choked by dams and many more.
🧐 Tomorrow they are running a workshop on the handbook - register for free via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/co-creation-mth-session-kincentric-leadership-toolkit-tickets-1598965712489?aff=oddtdtcreator
Or visit for more details.
👍 I wholeheartedly recommend you check out this epic handbook and the other things are up to including leadership programs, events, other resources and more.
