Allsorts Pre-school Our ethos centres on our beliefs about the child. We put their needs first by creating an environment that enables them to be inquisitive and creative.

An environment that is nurturing and safe, where children feel listened to, respected, and independence is fostered. It is one where they play, explore, engage and are proud of their achievements. We embrace a child led, play based learning environment, promoting shared ownership of our setting - let the children lead the way.

On the last day of Allsorts Preschool, the children quite literally spread their wings, ready to fly. Helping them to be themselves, be creative, be confident and have a go has always been at the heart of what we do. We wish all our children and their families a wonderful summer and a smooth transition into their new settings in the autumn. Thank you so much to all our families for your kind words, gestures and generous gifts as we all finish together, we really do appreciate it. Allsorts Preschool has been an important part of our lives for many years and, whilst it is hard to say goodbye, we do so knowing that we have done our best for all the children over the years. We wish Saplings Preschool at Bollington St John's all the very best for the future.

The last day at Allsorts Preschool, for most of the children, was on Thursday and we felt the very best way to celebrate was by having a full day of Forest School. It was an absolutely fantastic day and we cannot thank Marcella enough. We have all learned so much from her, about the nature around us, about our own strengths and about how we can achieve wonderful things if we work together and create ideas together. Thank you Marcella and thank you too to Bollington St John's School for enabling us to flourish at Forest School.

Allsorts Police HQ has a variety of response vehicles for emergencies - a giant bus, a motorbike with trailer and several cars. The police are always ready to help people, search for missing items and catch 'baddies'. Using resources such as maps, 'radios', clipboards, notebooks and pencils enables children to meaningfully develop language, communication and writing skills during play.

Muddy play is extremely good for children's physical and emotional health, proven to increase serotonin levels, boost immunity and develop strength and balance. Building and then negotiating their own obstacle course develops confidence, social skills, self reliance and physical attributes such as strength, agility and balance. The enabling environment at Allsorts means that children are able to select their own resources and safely put them together however they choose.
