I know some of you know, but some of you might not.. Alex has gone to Wales! I know, seems bizarre :) but provision at Styperson continues with the lovely Mark Redford and Sally Cliffe... and existing Wacky Woods staff, so if you are wanting to continue your Wacky Woods experiences of the past or even better party anew then bookings for parties and events are linked below.. Dear Wacky Wooder families. I am wanting to produce a keepsake... a social book of Wacky Woods' Facebook timeline. Thanks so much to all of you who came down to the woods today to say goodbye and hello:) What a glorious day to be in the woods, with the perfect autumn sunshine, and the dry rustling leaves underfoot!

So chuffed that Mark and Sally have created Nest in the Woods Adlington and will be building on what Wacky Woods has built at Styperson. Mark Redford has very promptly created a FB page for the continuation of provision in Adlington which is very exciting, so please like the page to see what's happening in the future. Pretty much play as normal :) but with their own ideas for developing further opportunities....and still with the guys you know and love being on site to help carry it forward. I feel really blessed that there will be a continued space for children and families to have fun and learning in this beautiful wood.

I have to admit I had a bit of a personal blip today when the children were toasting marshmallows, and wondered what might be said from November 1st, when 1 wacky woods, 2 wacky woods....etc whilst the marshmallow cools, won't be the rule anymore (: ...

We're having an open wacky woods day tomorrow from 10-4 . Come along and play for a while , toast marshmallows and have some fun. No formal charge, just donations for however long you stay and play. This is a family event and look forward to seeing you :)

Big announcement !

I am moving to Wales in November and therefore Wacky Woods will be closing the gate in Adlington for the last time at the end of this month.....
But there is some really good news as we've managed to arrange for our lovely friends Mark and Sally Redford to take over the site at Styperson Quarry Woods and they will be offering similar provision and keeping our great team off staff! See the link here to see the great things they are already offering in Grappenhall. This will become their second site and very appropriate timing as their outdoor nursery has just been given an outstanding rating by Ofsted. I am delighted they wish to continue provision here!
All our usual weekly regular sessions will be maintained... Tuesday toddlers, home ed, holiday activities, parties, special family events will continue, along with many more activities I'm sure. It's a perfect outcome for everyone .

As for the last couple of weeks of Wacky woods.... We are going to run some open sessions on Saturday this week, and I'll post details tomorrow, and of course next week we have half term wacky woods on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday and I look forward to a lovely last week of play! Of course, thank you to all of you for your support over the last 6 years along with some amazing memories :) and to all our wonderful team members who've made it all possible. It's been the most happy and fulfilling time of my life.

Oops... not been paying attention... We have 4 tickets left for Forest Fairies at Teggs Nose on Saturday morning... fairies including all gender fairies, elves, etc! Normally a lovely event....making forest crowns, playing fairie games including fairie/elf spells with our willow wands, building fairie homes and toasting marshmallows... all in the beautiful little space down at the bottom of Teggs Nose, through Langley... Do come! I'm getting new wings.. I bent my last ones, which have lasted a very long fairie lifetime.

Last day of our Wacky Woods summer programme today. What fun we've had this summer. Thank you all for coming.

We are currently accepting bookings for our Friday morning pre-school Forest School, intended for 3 and 4 year olds with parents/carers. We have spaces available for our next half term block of 7 weeks starting on Friday September 9th.
The sessions run from 10-12 and cost £10 per child per session.
